Just saw "The Rainmaker" a film from 1997 which shows how the |
health insurance companies screw their clients. It's from a John Grisham novel and stars Matt Damon.

1. Great film. It came out when I was working as a health care consumer advocate. |
I would show it to the new volunteers in my office, so they'd understand the issues.

2. Good book, too, but one of the better movies adapted from a book. |
Danny Davito was perfect casting with Roy Schieder as the thieving, heartless insurance co. exec.

Wasn't Mickey Rourke in this before he had all the plastic surgery and he still sort of looked like his old self? I'm sure this is the same movie. Mother's son who is ill and the insurance company ignores him? I get this film and a Civil Action with John Travolta mixed up for some reason. Don't ask me why.
