Charismatic Vs. Uncharismatic leaders
I mean, at least one can be forgiven for listening to the likes of Democratic leaders like Obama, JFK (ok, all the Kennedys), FDR, Bill AND Hillary Clinton, John Edwards (pretty much all of them), but shit, it's a pretty bad thing to be following Glenn Beck, Bill O'Rilley and Rush Limbaugh around like puppies. These guys are crass, rude, disgusting human beings. They're as far from charismatic as possible.

So, I have to say, it says more about a person who follows an uncharismatic leader than people who listen to and are inspired by eloquent, intelligent politicians.

1. To me it's simply about who peope identify with and who people feel they can learn from. Scary to
imagine the masses who feel those ways about the hate leaders.

2. Plus, our guy is CUTER!!!!
In all seriousness ..... there are a lot of sad, lonely, self-loathing people in this world and Beck and crew just give them something to feed off of.

3. No. Beck, O'Reilley and Limbaugh do have a dark, twisted charisma
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 12:37 AM by Marsala
Of course, so did Hitler and Stalin. Charisma is a morally neutral trait, unfortunately.

OK, on second thought Beck doesn't have any charisma, but he makes up for it with pure insanity.

4. I struggle to see charisma in "bending over and grabbing ankles"
but I guess that appeals to some people. Like I said, choosing to follow someone like that says more about the person than the leader. There will always be sick and twisted people, but the fact that they have followers is even more sick.
