Out of the mouth of babes --
This fine upstanding Southerner attended yesterday's clusterfuck:

Bob from Dahlonega

If healthcare was being provided for tax paying “real” Americans only I would not have a problem with it.
But as it stands a bunch of undesirables may get something they dont deserve
Healthcare is a Christian White right.

He's not done yet. At least, unlike his fellow troglodytes, he's honest about it:

I just got back from D.C. I had a blast hanging with true Patriots. we are the majority and will not stand around and let bama ruin what our forefathers intended this country to be.

Semper Fi
NRA
Freedomworks
Glenn Beck

Like Bill Maher so eloquently put it: "Stand Up For The 70 Percent Of Americans Who Aren't Crazy"

1. Yeah, for all the thanks he got for it.
The Democratic Party struggled at the national level throughout the 1970s and ’80s — all but shut out of the White House — because it was defined by its most extreme elements: war protesters, loony peaceniks, angry black activists, crime apologists, etc. It took years of concerted effort by the Democratic Leadership Council, Bill Clinton and others to reclaim the Democrats’ reputation as reasonable and pragmatic.

4. Reasonable and pragmatic
got us the repeal of 1930s banking regulations ( which led directly to two major bubble cycles and the deep recession / depression we are in now ).

got us NAFTA and all the other free trade agreements that killed our manufacturing segment.

and on and on.

Repukes are dogs with fleas... and when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Oh, and how did being all buddsy-buds with the repukes work out for President Clinton?

Did they pass his health care reform?

And wasn't there something about a government shutdown? And Impeachment?

Being Republican-lite doesn't get us anywhere. At best, it merely slowed down the fascist (corporatist) take over of this country. And worse, the Republicans took that as a sign of weakness and as a sign that they should push further to the right to create daylight between the "pragmatic Dems" and them.

5. If he thinks he's acting in a "Christian" manner,
he needs to re-read the red words in his Bible.

8. You don't have to act in a Christian manner to be a Christian
Which is why Christianity is so very popular.

9. Most of the people I know who act in a Christian manner aren't Christians
I first encountered a person like this when I was in third grade. She was Jewish, and acted the way Jesus taught us to act far more than others, especially those who bragged about being "Christian".

10. If they're bragging, it's like they're wearing "Hi, I'm an asshole!" T-shirts
I see it as them giving me fair warning
