Most Americans disapprove of Wilson's outburst

While lawmakers debate whether to sanction Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) for his now-infamous outburst, it seems voters have already formed their own opinion: about two-thirds disapprove of the congressman's interruption, a new poll finds.

About 68 percent of voters responding to Gallup's latest poll said they opposed Wilson's behavior during the president's speech. Slightly below one-quarter of respondents said they supported it.

Unsurprisingly, Democrats are most opposed to or outraged by Wilson's "You lie!" interruption. So too, however, are a majority of Republicans, slightly more than half of which also indicated their displeasure.
