What is WRONG with Sen. Baucus? |
|
He's speaking now, taking questions about HIS bill, and he's answering them while smiling almost uncontrollably while looking clueless. Even though NONE of the Repubs. in HIS "gang of 6" signed on to the bill, he's SURE Repubs. will support it.
Meanwhile, I'm betting the WH sees this as license to go ahead with things NOT in Baucus's plan, including a public option. They'll say that they gave the "gang of 6" all the time in the world to try and they couldn't even come up with an agreement, even WITHOUT a public option. The WH gave Baucus all the rope he needed and now that he used it to kill the idea of bipartisanship, it's "go time" to get a bill the majority wants.

See: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=8656737&mesg_id=8656737I bet Dennis sleeps on a commie flag comforter. Lets not even talk about the Baucus bill! Lets trash Kucinich the evil Single-Payer baby killer.

7. I am personally not fond of either. Not everyone is automatically a supporter of one or the other. |

3. There must be blackmail involved for him to embarrass himself this way. |
|
It's not just a money thing. There are always other people who will give you money to change your stance. So, it must be blackmail.

Had to make things look as non-partisan as possible, before we do it on our own. Obama is quite a chess master. This panel was the republicans last chance they blew it or will after the vote and we can move on with something more like H.R. 3200.

18. I agree with your post but I think Baucus was an unwitting participant, truly |
|
believing he WOULD get Repubs. on board. Obama has known for a LONG time now that the Repubs. weren't interested in a deal.
