Legislator takes eligibility question to election officials
'I expect somebody to come up with answers; so far that hasn't happened'

New Hampshire State Rep. Laurence Rappaport, R-Colebrook, is tired of telling his constituents that he's not sure of Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president. ..

..."There's been virtually nothing released regarding school records or his birth records, and the thing that bothers me is that I think as a citizen of the United States, we have the right to know that," Rappaport said. "So far I haven't gotten answers to any of those questions, and my constituents haven't either. We feel we need to know this."

At least some state representatives LISTEN to their people and respond with proper action! I've written Senator Voinovich, Representative Marcy Kaptur, and others, and haven't received any response - shame on them for FAILING to fulfill the responsibilities of their office.

Clinton, Carter, or any other President in the history of the country

Someone should ask this bozo why he supported John McCain in the last election when we know for a fact he was not born in the U.S. But that's different. McCain is white.

3. I read an article today debunking this
and Rappaport is pissed off that it's been spread across the birther blogs as fact.

Oh, well.

If you can find me a link debunking that he did this, I'll correct the record and post it on Twitter.

Birthers stump secretary of state

By SHIRA SCHOENBERG
Monitor staff
September 16, 2009 - 7:05 am

Dear birthers: New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner is not investigating President Obama's birth status. If asked, his staff will say no, and that doesn't mean, "We won't tell you." It means no.

So stop sending the four-page faxes with footnotes about James Madison and John Jay. Stop asking Gardner whether Obama holds dual citizenship - he has no idea. And please don't ask him again whether Obama has taken the oath required of all presidential candidates.

"What's the oath for candidates?" the exasperated secretary of state asked yesterday.

The seeds of the controversy were planted Thursday when state Rep. Laurence Rappaport, a Colebrook Republican, met with Gardner. According to Gardner, Rappaport presented him with two copies of what he said was Obama's Kenyan birth certificate. Gardner told Rappaport complaints about elections must go to the ballot law commission. But he said he would be happy to check for Rappaport whether there was any place to confirm Kenyan documents so Rappaport could pursue the issue if he wanted to. Gardner checked. There wasn't. Case closed.

Or not. According to Rappaport, he had requested an investigation, and Gardner agreed to pursue one.

10. I wonder who David Ben-Ariel is. If you go to the link, on the right hand side
there are a bunch of links to him. It sounds very familiar from early 2008-ish.

11. IIRC, he's one of those far-right Jews that want to destroy the mosque in Jerusalem...
... so The Messiah can come back.

Let me go googling...

Yep.

That's the dude.

12. Strange all the things we encounter here, isn't it? There must have
been some thread way back that talked about this guy. Thanks for the info. I was a little bit scared to go clicking on random links.

So he's not a "completed" Jew as the fundies so disgustingly phrase a Jew who has converted to Christianity. But he's someone who believes that the temple has to be destroyed to bring the Messiah to earth?

Now I really have a headache, thinking about fundies and temple destroying all in one reply.

:hi:

13. Key difference is BRING The Messiah.... not bring BACK The Messiah.
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 08:01 PM by Ian David
Various Jewish sects each claim that their leader is The Messiah, and jump through all sorts of hoops to claim that they are direct descendants of genocidal maniac King David, therefore making them eligible.

In theory, nobody is supposed to know who The Messiah is until he shows-up, not even The Messiah.

Keep your fingers crossed for ME!

I have as good a shot as anyone!

And if I am The Messiah, I pledge that instead of everyone getting a fig tree to sit under in Heaven, we will all get big-screen TVs and an X-Box 360.
