Decision Coming for Biden in Delaware
Delaware Attorney Gen. Beau Biden (D) is expected to return from his National Guard duty in Iraq at the end of the month, reports WBOC-TV. The big decision awaiting him is whether he'll run for the U.S. Senate vacated by his father.

"Barred from politics while on active duty, Biden has not been able to say a word about the expectations that have mounted while he was gone."

However, Erin McPike reports it looks like Biden "is definitely in" the race and that would likely affect the decision making of the leading Republican who might run, Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE).

1. Don't know much about him other than he deployed even though Joe and Jill
were apprehensive because he felt it was his duty to serve. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Thanks for posting this!! :hi:

11. Sure I'm bitter. I wanted that senate seat for myself.
:sarcasm:

Seriously, don't you think there is something wrong with elective offices being controlled by several generations of the same family? Do you think that is good for democracy? Would Beau Biden, Ted Kennedy, or George W. Bush have won their respective offices if not for a politically-powerful relative and their name recognition?

13. They still have to get elected though
But it's amazing how much name recognition does.

But if they are qualified, it's not a problem, why shouldn't they serve if so? We wouldn't have wanted to do without Teddy Kennedy, for instance.

12. Carney...

Carney lost the Democratic primary for governor, and is likely the D front runner for the Senate seat.

Beau's okay, but not Senate material yet.
