Not sure how I feel about all this Baucus hate... |
|
...when Kent Conrad surely deserves as much hate! Apparently co-ops weren't weak enough. He had to fix them to be even weaker for United Health. Conrad Praises Baucus Bill Which Contains Co-Ops He Proposed After Meeting With United Health Group

5. Baucus was paid to leverage a shitty healthcare bill... |

...but you just have to wonder how damn dumb these insurance companies are.
Do these companies think that just because one bought-and-paid for corporate slut (that's Baucus to you and me) puts forth a stupid idea--that it will just PASS? Like magic???
Do these corporations even understand that "We The People" are out there? Do they get it? Did they anticipate the "Oh HELLLL NOOO!" from Republicans and Democrats?
Supposedly, the powerful, mighty insurance lobby (Quick everyone quiver in fear! Hide under the credenza!) spent days and weeks and months--and so much money--lobbying these politicians. Why, they must have spent millions to stop healthcare reform!
And Baucus and his bogus plan is what they're betting on? That's what they spent all of that time and money on?
Baucus is their "sure thing" their "ace in the hole". Please.
Pardon me, while I...

6. I tend to feel it is all by design. |

He sets the bar low. Then the heroic real Democrats get street cred for tossing some scraps the people's way in a bill that remains, overall, detrimental to social mobility and health.

8. Yes, Conrad was the one whom all the compromises were made for |
|
Baucus himself has said that he doesn't oppose a public option, but Conrad has repeatedly come out against one.
