If this is crap and falls apart, all that is left are the more liberal bills right? And there is no way there are votes in the Senate for any of those to pass, right?
So nothing will get passed, Obama will have his "waterloo" that the Republicans are praying for and then what?
No health care reform and more Republicans get sworn in in 2010. And then in 2012 Obama runs on not getting what he promised to get in 2008. He loses.
and we still have no health care reform right?
Tell me what I'm missing please.

2. what are you missing? a lot.
getting the "road to compromise" blocked by a bunch of idiot Republicans is very important step prior to jamming actual legislation down their throats and being credible when you tell the American people these jagoffs just won't accept or work with anything.

That right there is what people like Kent Conrad want you to think. Health care reform is going to pass. The Conservadems are trying to weaken the final bill so they don't have to vote on a liberal bill. But they will if that's what the final bill is.

5. Cool. And optimism is great!
I hope you're right, and I tend to agree, but I'm still skeered. :scared:

4. The "liberal" bills?
You mean the ones that DO include a public option, which is desired by a majority of people?

6. This is "good" because it makes a centrist bill look leftist in contrast, which appeases the base
AND appeases big business (who are paying attention).

8. Wow, you made several leaps there. The bills are gonna get amended
and eventually there will be ONE bill with a public option.
