Ed Gillespie slams "the worst and most vile form of political hate speech"...

...in January 2004, when MoveOn.org ran 30-second ads that "compared Bush to Adolf Hitler"...

Anyone heard from Ed lately?

3. They didn't run it, exactly. It was on their website. I think it was contributed by a citizen..
in some sort of ad contest.

They took it off after a public outcry (by you know who's).

5. Yes... it was temporarily posted as an entry to the contest
and immediately taken down. Which is why it is offensive when WE echo the lie by the RW that MoveON RAN the spot. That is a iie.

9. Well, they DID view it and approve it for posting on their site. And it took an outcry
by the public for them to remove it. After it hit the cable news shows and all.

So...they weren't COMPLETELY without fault. But it's wrong to say that they "ran an ad" about Hitler. Technically not true.

11. ALL submissions were temporarily posted for voting
as this was a solicited contest for an ad. YOU are incorrect in saying they approved it for posting. ALL submissions were posted routinely until they realized that not everyone was responsible in what they submitted.

You are partially right, but absolutely wrong in saying they viewed and approved it. That's like saying the average parent views and approves everything on their child's computer, because, after all, it is THERE.

2. where'd you get your info from, Dick Armey?
One person in this Meet the Press transcript is lying and it's not Rachel Maddow.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32420049/ns/meet_the_press/

(...)

But when moveon.org ran those ads that compared President Bush with, with Adolf Hitler, I thought it was despicable.

MS. RACHEL MADDOW: They never did that.

REP. ARMEY: They did do it. I’ll show you the ad.

MS. MADDOW: They didn’t do that. They never ran an ad that compared...

REP. ARMEY: All right. Anyway. All right.

MS. MADDOW: MoveOn never ran an ad that compared Bush to Hitler.

REP. ARMEY: All right.

6. Armey is little more than a paper bag filled w/methane...
challenge him, and he folds because he knows he has nothing heavier than gas to spew.

i wonder how he even comes up w/his crap...and for him to take on maddow is insane to the nth degree, the intellectual chasm between the two is vast indeed. Rachel is one of the brightest out there, and she has the sense to do the homework to make sure she is right...:eyes:

8. I think Rachel wonders why she even deals w/the moron...
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 07:45 AM by rasputin1952
it's just too easy for her when she is dealing w/one of the weakest minds of the GOP. There is a reason why Armey is no longer in the House...:D

10. Ed can't speak right now. His head is up his ass.
And he's probably too busy helping teabaggers paint signs.
