Glenn Beck would've been a Tory opposing his beloved "founders" |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-17-09 10:45 PM by Armstead
Glen Beck talks like he practically masturbates when he thinks of the nation's Founders. He refers to them constantly as the heroes whose values we have to return to.
He seems to see himself as a modern Thomas Paine.
But if he had been alive and had a soapbox back during the American revolution, he would most likely have been trying to whip up resentment against those "radicals" like Paine and Jefferson, and urging the populace to reject their "destructive attempts to transform our beloved Colonies and usurp the God Given authority of our beloved King George."
He rails against anyone who urges change from the status quo. To Beck, corruption is not the buying of our system by the corporate oligarchs. No, to Beck, it's the stupidity of some street level Acorn staffers.
He hates those who dare question the power of the corporatocracy. The real enemies are those awful liberals, socialists, negroes....anyone who advocates for social change in any way.
So for him to sing the praises of those radicals who dared to stand up to the Royal Authority seems mighty inconsistent.

4. Paine actually was a little nuts. |
|
He went overboard supporting the French Revolution until he was nearly killed in it.

5. He would had loved paying those church taxes that went to the state church. |
|
And paying the taxes to his own church (LDS).
He would had drank tea until his urine turned black to prove his opposition to the Tea Party and their protest of the tea tax.
He would had railed against Washington and called him a bumbling fool that couldn't make up his mind on who to support or that he wore the teeth of other people.

18. You may actually want to read some history on Benedict Arnold |
|
and not the fiction we have been fed.
Yes he was a traitor. But, before that he was a patriot and IF he had died at Saratoga he would be acclaimed as a major hero of the Revelation. His decision to commit treason had multiple reasons, wife and the games Congress played with him.

9. Being from CT, I totally see through Beck. |
|
He was a morning DJ on a local radio station here when I was in high school. He is an entertainer. I doubt he believes anything that he says. He decided to amp the shock value to get attention and it worked. Even on CNN he was not this extreme. Now, if only he could get the hell out of my beloved state. And I got Lieberman here too. Sheesh.

& O' Reilly would've been calling Jefferson, Franklin, Adams & the others pinheads.
I also think they would've railed against Lincoln & backed Jeff Davis.
And if this had been Germany they'd have supported Hitler.
Oh and if this was the US of the 30's they'd have been railing against FDR while being supporters if not leaders of the America First movement. They wouldn't have been arguing to go to war against Germany like they now pretend they would've. Only on Dec 8th, 1941 would they have done a 180.
On edit though they may have been against England - remember this bunch hates taxes!

13. Beck is a money sham. |
|
I'm willing to bet he doesn't believe half the stuff he's spewing.
But it makes him a ton of cash. And it works.
SO why not push it? He's an actor and nothing more. So many keep up a facade to fit their role because they know if they don't, they lose their cash cow.
Beck ain't no different.

They are status quo, so back then, they would have definitely been pro-monarchy.

My 8th grade math teacher's last name was Beck and he told me his name was German. We could easily call Beck a Nazi hell he looks like one.

16. If you ever have a conversation |
|
with one of his followers, you'll see that it isn't really the Constitution they support, it's the Articles of Confederation.
I was debating someone on another message board that was going on and on about what "our founding fathers" believed. But all their points of reference were pre-Constitution.
