The Root Causes Of America's Health Care Catastrophe, In Pictures
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 11:34 AM by Turborama
These pictures are from Brave New Films' new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4TsaHmtgfA">The Health Insurance Racket. The pictures of the golden cutlery are from the portion of the video when Former Communications VP for CIGNA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBFKkXDSKWw">Wendell Potter talks about flying on CIGNA's Corporate jet and being served food accompanied with these tools of greed and opulence that acted as the blinding light on http://www.prwatch.org/node/8422">his 'Road to Damascus'.

I think these pictures would make good poster material for anyone going to a Pro-Health Care Reform Protest...

Forward http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4TsaHmtgfA">this video to your friends and watch all the videos at www.sickforprofit.com

CIGNAs Edward Hanway spends his holidays in a $13 million beach house in New Jersey. Meanwhile, regular Americans are routinely denied coverage for the care they need when they need it most.

Welcome to the American health insurance industry. Instead of helping policyholders attain the health security they need for their families, big insurance companies get rich by denying coverage to patients. Now theyre sending lobbyists to Washington, DC to twist the arms of lawmakers to oppose reform of the status quo. Why? Because the status quo pays.

Learn more at www.sickforprofit.com about the glamorous lives of billionaire health insurance executives and tell us your story of being victimized by their greed.

If you haven't seen it already, check out Brave New Films other video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKI9be55N00">Fight back against health insurance lies to see What UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley has to lose if Congress passes real healthcare reform this year.

6. With these #s you wonder why this sham continues to function with a democratic majority
and you realize that maybe they are in the game as well....if real reform isnt passed then the democratic party is nothing more than corporatists in sheep clothing. very disapoointing.

8. 16-17 percent of our economy is health care. 30% of that sticks to insurance co.s' fingers
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 12:52 PM by kenny blankenship
30% of 16% of our entire economy is abducted yearly by "health" profiteers who do nothing at all to make anyone well, and is a dead loss to our economy. Add that up for a decade and figure the opportunity cost on the total -- the productive business ventures that don't get started, new factories that don't get built, jobs not created, hours not worked. Add the trillions of dollars worth of lost business opportunity over ten years to the misery of untreated/undertreated diseases, the unnecessary deaths of the insured on top of tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths among the uninsured, the bankruptcies forced on thousands of families.

Tell me again who the Great Enemy of the American Way of Life is? Al-Qaida? What a fucking joke!

11. Hammer it home...put the blame where it belongs!
Until the opponents are stung by an insurance company, they aren't going to believe the facts. Hammer it home, time after time after time until your friends and family members understand it isn't the government that has failed them, it is the insurance companies and stockholders that have caused the most problems.

Shame on them.

13. The website indicates they are having a tagline contest for Cigna
CIGNA's advertising tagline is 'A Business of Caring.' In spite of their neglect and abusive practices of denying coverage to increase their profits, they stick to the claim that they care about you. It's a racket not a business of caring.
Tell us CIGNA's new tagline. We'll make CIGNA a new corporate logo with the winning tagline, post it on Facebook, and send it CIGNA execs

19. What troubles me is that for some
this is "The American Dream" and something to aspire to. I think that's part of the problem; the dedication to a false ideal of infinite success without any regard for whose backs that success is built on. Even when it's YOUR (i.e. the middle and lower class conservatives') back, there's a kind of denial of reality at work..."It's capitalism! If you take it away I can never achieve it!" Even though they suffer under its real yoke and don't even live the lives they could live if it was regulated.

20. How much more can we take?
Donating our hard earned dollars for health insurance coverage, to be denied and there's little to no chance to get life saving procedures covered.

Does the White House get it?
