All the President's Soundbites (From Sunday's Shows)
Edited on Sat Sep-19-09 08:30 AM by Clio the Leo
Here are the soundbites made available (they were each allowed one) by four of the five (the 5th being Univision) news programs upon which the President is appearing Sunday.

CBS (the ONLY network to sidestep the racism distraction in their soundbite! Bless them!!!!! Is it any wonder why the President seems to prefer them over the others? 60 Mins, Letterman etc.)

And from the others .... "No, let's not waste precious time talking about health care reform! We want to know if you think racism exists in America! Distract! Distract Distract!")

NBC

ABC (half way down the page)

CNN (no video, but here is the article)

1. My hope is that more people will tune in than would normally---
wanting to hear President Obama's comments about racism, and will then be exposed to his articulate reasoned approach. I think this may actually be positive.

However,

I also really hate MSM---I clicked on the CBS sound bite, only to hear Schieffer say Obama has still not made the case for health care reform and the public is still deeply divided (not according to many polls, I might ad); and NBC's Williams starting out that "it has been said that the Obama WH lost it's own message during the last weeks in August" (He was on vacation for a bit, Teddy died, and the MSM has been doing everything in its power to see that the crazies got even more air time than Michael Jackson. GIVE ME A BREAK)

Just report, let the people decide.

2. But the racism mantra .............
.... will turn off the very people the President is trying to win over. The subject is a battle cry for us. But for those who oppose the President, regardless of their motivation, will be turned off by the dismissal that their motivation is purely racism.

And EVERY minute he wasted talking about the racism issue, was one less minute he had to talk about health care reform.

I'm sure it's very frustrating for him.

7. I don't t hink I'm going to watch at all. I'll see. But I'm tired of seeing O all over the place.
Maybe the appearances are for those who may have missed him before? (How could they POSSIBLY have missed him?)

I love Obama. I supported him for the nomination early on. But I'm beginning to think that some people are right when they say that Obama is overexposed.

It's like being in love with a man, and you want to be with him, and you want to be with, and you WANT to be with him...but after awhile, you just need some breathing room! It can be an overload.

3. Jason Linkins at HuffPo does a great job of covering the Sunday
shows, with a lot of humor. Profiles in Courage should consider him.... He watches so we don't have to.

6. Christ, what is with this RACE issue. Why must the MSM play along w/ the latest Repub Talking Point
Edited on Sat Sep-19-09 12:25 PM by quantass
Talk about the most baseless argument yet. We might as well bring back, or rather turn the volume up on, the whole citizenship issue. It's like the primaries all over again; whats this week's fabricated controversy.
