Leave it these people to prompt people like me to Obama's defense, even if we are feeling disappointed.
These folks are toxic!

Conservative Christians assail Obama agenda
Fri Sep 18, 2009 3:00pm EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. conservative Christians, a key base for the out-of-power Republican Party, gathered in Washington on Friday to rally the faithful against President Barack Obama's agenda, including his top domestic priority of healthcare reform.

Obama's falling poll numbers and what they depict as his ultra-liberal views on abortion rights, healthcare and climate change are galvanizing a group that could prove vital to Republican prospects of taking back control of Congress in the 2010 congressional elections or the White House in 2012.

Conservative activists see exploitable opportunities in Obama's policies and performance that also can stir more centrist voters, such as suspicions of "big government" and the almost uniquely American skepticism of global warming that prevails in much of the heartland.

"The idea that the healthcare plan takes away choice and freedom, people see their liberties at risk," said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council (FRC), the conservative Christian lobby group organizing the summit of self-styled "values voters."

3. I want these loons to explain something.
Just how does adding one more choice for people (the public option) get translated as "the healthcare plan takes away choice and freedom"??

I don't want to hear about the "gateway" or "slippery slope" nonsensical shit, either. I want to know how they think another choice for people now equates to "taking away choice."

:wtf:

8. "Obama's falling poll numbers..." Doesn't Reuters fact-check anymore?
Reminds me of something I heard on the NBC Nightly News last night... Brian Williams mentioned that President Obama's numbers "Aren't as high as George W's* at this stage of his Presidency."

Well, how fucking disingenuous can you possibly get? President Obama didn't ignore any dire warnings from flight schools, FBI agents, CIA briefings or others virtually screaming "THEY ARE HERE!!!" and allow the nation to be attacked by terrorists "at this stage of his Presidency" so he could take advantage of "Shock and Awe" to inflate said numbers. MIHOP, LIHOP or just plain raging incompetence and callous disregard, the numbers post 9/11/2001 were thoroughly undeserved.

Had the people known BushCo* had ignored just the CIA briefing in August immediately after the attacks, heads would have been on pikes in front of the WH within hours of the news getting out. Is it any wonder Dick Cheney remained in an undisclosed location for most of the next four years?

I'll take the EARNED 62% over the undeserved 90% any day of any week of any month of any year Brian. But thanks for your concern.

9. I really don't care what those nuts think of Obama..and his policies, just
They should not be allowed to get very close to him.

These nuts are a dying breed, compared to the liberal younger folks coming along.
