What Will Be The Straw That Breaks The Camel's Back & We See President Obama Get Really Pissed Off..
and tell it like it is?

I watched the President on two of the Sunday a.m. shows today and he is such a gentle, kind and even keeled man. He takes all the questions asked of him in stride and never hints of being upset with either the questioner nor the circumstances that lead up to the question (i.e., racism, guns at presidential rallies, being called a liar in Congress, having to defend his stances from Repug lies, RW talking heads nailing him on his every move, etc).

Just once I would like to see him get really pissed and (not lose it) but get angry enough and tell it like it is - instead of him always being so diplomatic.

Then I sit back and think - what will be the incident that will instigate this? Who or what will push his button to the point that he'll throw all diplomacy aside and really say what he feels?

Any thoughts?

I know he's the most powerful man in the world and I know that he has an image to maintain. But sometimes even a good parent has to get tough to make a point.

Will we ever see this happen and what might precipitate this?

1. when they go after either Michelle, or the girls, or both...
He will not tolerate that. And it will have to be media, not citizens. He won't respond to whackos, but he will respond to the media mirroring the whackos.

2. Cheney kicking the new first dog might do it.
Obama has an unbelievable ability to turn a cheek to things that would make most of us go Mt.Vesuvius.

Sounds like someone the Rightys like to quote.

4. Obama does not seem to have the temper of past Presidents. Even Clinton exploded on people
when he had enough.
Obama is a calming personality and maybe for these times, that is okay.
I agree that he would get pissed off if someone really went after his family.

5. Nothing.
There is no straw that can break Obama's back regarding
corporatism.

If he couldn't afford a lifesaving medical treatment
for one of his kids, that would do it. But that won't
happen.

6. he gets direct about some things, but outright angry like a B*sh saying, "who are you talking to?"
"I'm the president!", or something along that line, I think sure, could happen. But him going off and shutting down idiocy with a yell that you would have to be referring to in making this post, I agree with the other person, it'd have to involve his family, or be blatantly racial or be someone so disgusted with Obama as president that they flip out and just treat him with rudeness. Then again, Obama might just either walk away from them, or if in a question and answer area he might just call next question - he's that reserved. ha

7. I don't think we'll EVER see that! That's just not him at all.
I actually have two relatives like him. They raised 4 boys & a girl and NEVER lost their temper with any of them. With people like that, those around them soon realize when they've really pissed them off, just be a look, or a very angry statement made with a calm tone.

15. If that was him angry, he's the most even-keeled guy ever to hold
the Presidency--with the exception of maybe Warren Harding or Calvin Coolidge (who was constantly on his "I Hate Everything In The World" setting).

When Barry came out with that "bitterly clinging" remark, I groaned and thought, "He must want to lose Pennsylvania!" And sure enough, on primary day Hillz racked up nearly a 10% margin...

It was the gift that kept on giving. People were walking into our offices very PO'd and registering to volunteer. The only place where Obama won was Harrisburg and of course Philadelphia due to the demographics.

if I had wanted a ball buster in the white house, I would have voted for that palin woman. I admire the President's calm demeanor and it's one of the reasons why he got my vote.

Barack Obama does not need to go off on anyone to prove his
manhood. I'm sure he can give someone a look of dissappointment that can cut them to their very soul. THIS is the demeanor I want leading our troops. THIS is the type of person I want with his finger resting by the proverbial button.

17. Don't ever expect him to become visibly angry.
At most, he'll 'lose control' and become impatient with a question and calmly answer it as if he were explaining a complex issue to a very young child (and, we have seen him do this). When he has had 'enough', his temperament is such that what he will do is calmly dig in his heels and refuse to compromise any further.

Anyone expecting a typical 'angry' response is doomed to be disappointed. It's not in his make up. That is probably one of the reasons he wanted Rahm Emmanual where he is - they complement each other personality-wise. Also, in the art of negotiation, the best strategy is to always leave the 'ultimate' decision in the hands of a 'compromiser' after they have had to deal with the 'irrational' representative first.

Honestly, I think both approaches (Obama's and Emmanual's) have their uses. And, having two such extreme examples in the positions of 'The GateKeeper' (Emmanual) and 'The Power' (Obama) is a good strategy.

One other thing, if Obama EVER does visibly express 'anger', it will be a 'Kruchev and the shoe' moment - planned in advance and used for a strategic advantage.

20. Obama is the right president for the right time. Can you imagine
McCain or Palin? OMG, no. Obama can't afford to lose it because that is actually what the republicans want him to do. See the mad black man. He has to be calm and collected. He can't afford to show emotion.

Why do so many want to make him an image of themselves?

Just because there are so many angry people doesn't mean every single person has to be.

Viva La Difference.

Edited on Sun Sep-20-09 07:38 PM by Canuckistanian
1. Professor Gates arrest

2. Kanye West

He seems to be highly offended by personal, individual stories of injustice.

I do hope he can extend those feelings toward whole classes of people who suffer injustice.

Democrats don't get angry at their esteemed colleagues on the other side of the aisle. They save their best shots for the folks that got them elected.
