Where did that period of Republican introspection go? |
|
I seem to remember the Republicans saying that there would be a period of introspection, leading to an improved and more universal agenda that would emerge? There was only cursory polling, leading to attacking the left for everything and the kitchen sink. They argued that Hitler was a lefty. Mussolini was a progressive. Nazi's were full blown Dems. Sky is falling. Did they poll and find that there was no escape? If they had polled, would they come out with any legislation proposals?
There has been NO humility whatsoever. Only bluster, belying the fact that Republicans have NO new ideas.

1. Republican introspection? I assume that means looking higher up their rear ends. |

2. They introspected and found that they were right about everything |

Now all they have to do is shout loud enough until everyone agrees with them, or caves in to get them to shut up.

4. Remember that "outreach" with Jeb Bush and Eric Cantor at the pizza joint? |
|
That was the last we heard of their little organization.

5. This is their introspective moment |
|
Republican introspection in three acts:
We lost everything and that sucks.
We are ordained by God and the Higher Powers of Capitalism to run everything, and us being infallible and all, how did this loss happen?
We were betrayed. Since we are, by definition, infallible, we must have been betrayed. "Those people," in their liberal-ness, betrayed us by winning which can't happen because we are infallible and blessed by God and Company. Therefore we need to do whatever it takes to get them out of the way. It is God's Will and the will of the all-seeing Free Market (blessed be it's name) that we do this. Amen.
Introspection complete.

6. Who believed that? It'll take more than a couple of asswhippings |
|
for these fools to even bother to repackage their failed and discredited ideas like they did the last time they were sent into the wilderness for a generation or two. I have no idea what it would take to get these people to actually change a single thing because they lack the courage to reload at the expense of losing their base.
