President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama wear 3-D glasses while watching a TV commercial during Super Bowl 43, Arizona Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, in the family theater of the White House on February 1, 2009. Guests included family, friends, Cabinet members, staff members and bipartisan members of Congress.
(Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

This is a the end when the Steelers scored that long run back for a touch down ... or maybe it was just a regular long run for a touch down, but clearly, there was only one Steelers fan in the room lol. The Cardinals had just scored themselves to move out ahead if I'm remebering correctly.

(for crying out loud! He's the Attorney General! Let the man have a seat! lol)

And just for clarification, I was not saying that it was sad that HE didn't know the answer .... but that I DID! lol

it's our elected officials who consider "reform" to be forcing us to pay premiums to the companies that have been cheating us for years without any guarantees that we'll actually be able to access care.

.... when Dave finished by saying "it's incredably satisfying to watch you do your work" and the audience reaction to that statement. His face spoke of a flattery that seemed very genuine. I think hearing that may have wiped out the pain of about 10 "Obama as the Jokers" posters.

Wishing I could "+1" Dave right now.

47. He does work hard and it is great to watch. When I was
researching him old articles about him at various places (community organizer, law review and onward) those with him then would talk about his 80 hour weeks or whatever. Hopefully that went down when married with kids...but he never really left a job. Before he ran for US Senate and was a state senator he still trained organizers, still did research for law firm, still taught at law school Friday nights and Monday mornings.
I think about that as I watch him work now. It's what he does...
and it's a pleasure to watch.

LAT: U.S. says Pakistan, Iran helping Taliban
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-afghan-spies22-2009sep22,0,3144734.story

The U.S. military commander in Afghanistan says he has evidence that factions of Pakistani and Iranian spy services are supporting insurgent groups that carry out attacks on coalition troops.

Taliban fighters in Afghanistan are being aided by "elements of some intelligence agencies," Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal wrote in a detailed analysis of the military situation delivered to the White House earlier this month.

McChrystal went on to single out Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency as well as the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as contributing to the external forces working to undermine U.S. interests and destabilize the government in Kabul.

The remarks reflect long-running U.S. concerns about Pakistan and Iran, but it is rare that they have been voiced so prominently by a top U.S. official. McChrystal submitted his assessment last month, and a declassified version was published Sunday on the Washington Post website.

"maybe it's worth it to stay in Afghanistan to keep them out of Pakistan."

And there's this.....

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iqyaFh_efr-brDq0rMLF1hkop0tgD9ARVHGO0

I mean that seems pretty clear to me. Why is he not mentioning this? Clearly I'm missing something. Is it too reminiscent of Vietnam? Even if it is (and maybe my youth is showing here) we didn't get into a nuclear war with the Soviets during Vietnam .... so there ya go.

67. Thanks for that link, Clio..
<snip from your article>>

"High-level Obama aides said the Pentagon's case to send more troops was being pushed most aggressively by Joint Chiefs chairman Adm. Mike Mullen.

White House officials were caught off guard and reacted with displeasure last week when Mullen told a Senate panel that more troops were all but certainly needed in Afghanistan, and that a second report asking for the additional forces would be delivered "in the very near future."

Gates has said he has not decided whether he agrees that more troops are needed, and Obama made clear in his weekend interviews that he is far from ready to decide."

We'll see what happens..maybe PO just didn't want to get into it at that point in time.
