CNN - President Obama Promoted Multi-National Cooperation Just Like Bush? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-23-09 10:01 AM by TomCADem
Who knew?
Anyone else watching CNN and the reporter's remarks? She then interviewed and international relations expert from MIT who then ticked off several differences between President Obama and Bush such as condemning torture, committing to closing Guantanamo, and saying that the U.S. is not going to force democracy upon other nations, as key differences between President Obama and Bush. To me, it seemed like a white wash of President Bush, by suggesting that President Bush was big proponent of international engagement and an opponent of using force to impose democracy on other nations. Has the CNN reporter ever heard of John Bolton?
I am sure President Bush would have said this: "The United States does Israel no favors when we fail to couple an unwavering commitment to its security with an insistence that Israel respect the legitimate claims and rights of the Palestinians."
:sarcasm:

3. cnn is a tool. Bush never got that kind of response. I'm sure all those |
|
at the UN breathed a sigh of relief that we are now represented by this new, intelligent, thoughtful president.

5. It wasn't even close to what bush said. bush effectively said that you are either with us or |
|
against us
Obama said we have to work together or it will NOT work
In my view, CNN gave a major misrepresentation of what he was saying

7. Bush Was Also Saying That UN Risked Being Irrelevant If It Did Not Authorize Force |

CNN was not so much distorting what President Obama said, rather it was trying to paint President Bush as some born again diplomat.

I laughed out loud when she said - "Isn't that the same thing Bush said when he stated you're either with us or against us?"
It didn't seem to matter how many times that guy told her it wasn't the same at all, she still insisted it was.
