Obama Complained, "Jesus, I Wish They'd Stop Grabbing My Ass": New Book
According to a new book, Barack and Michelle Obama's marriage was strained on the campaign trail because of all the women throwing themselves at the future president.

In "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage," Christopher Andersen writes that women were constantly trying to attach themselves to Obama on the campaign trail.

After an appearance in Peoria, Illinois, the future president reportedly said as he got into his car, "Jesus, I wish they'd stop grabbing my ass."

Michelle Obama, writes Andersen, "was not amused" and thought her husband was "loving it." She "resorted to giving him the silent treatment."

The New York Daily News reported on the book on Sunday. Some more highlights: Michelle shot down the idea of Hillary Clinton for vice president, and she also convinced Barack to use the catchphrase "Yes We Can." (He thought it was "childish" and "corny.")

3. I think this book is trying to get false rumors out there
if this book can get people to speculate on the stability of the Obama marriage, then they've halfway accomplished their goal of attempting to bringing Obama's presidency down. My two cents.

14. Figures that Tweety would invite on a professional rumor-monger...as if there
aren't more pressing and important matters going on.....didn't Tweety say the other day that "nobody wants to hear about health care reform anymore." So, this is what we get instead: unsourced gossip about women grabbing the President's butt......good grief!

8. Yep, lotsa money in writing a "tell all" book. Can't have stuff that's boring.
I tend not to believe a word of stuff like this. And anyway, whose marriage is all sweetness and light? Especially in the pressure cooker of a presidential campaign...

10. Why would/should she give him the silent treatment over something he
had no control over? Do it the way Faith Hill did, she went after the woman!

17. Exactly, it makes no sense
The way they tell it, it sounds like he *didn't* like the ass-grabbing. Why would she give him the silent treatment if he didn't like what the women were doing, either?

20. *If* it is true; it sounds to me as if he was saying it jokingly
ie: no one was actually grabbing his ass, but they were giving him extra attention; more attention than what he would receive if he was any other political candidate.

I can totally see him saying it to Michelle in a joking manner, in that context. And I can see her rolling her eyes, but I can't see her actually getting mad about it. Although, I suppose it would wear on any woman (or man, if the roles were reversed) after a while.

This guy seems to have all the "ins" into the lives of everyone that grabs the national imagination.

Pretty amazing! He must be clairvoyant. And whadya know.....he never sources any of his deep insider quotes......I guess he's just protecting his sources! :sarcasm:

25. I think the Yes We Can came from Axelrod - I swear he used the same phrase in Deval Patrick's
campaign.

I personally think it's cheesy, but some people like that cheesy stuff.
