Kentucky: Paul Campaign Has Raised Over $1 Million
Anti-tax activist Rand Paul (R) on Wednesday held his third “money bomb” fundraiser for his Senate campaign and by early afternoon he had already raised more than $100,000.

The Internet-based fundraising event was held on the same day that Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson (R) was scheduled to be the beneficiary of a fundraiser featuring more than two dozen GOP Senators at National Republican Senatorial Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Paul campaign manager David Adams said that after Wednesday’s online money bomb and two more live fundraisers planned for Saturday, the campaign expects to have raised some $900,000 this quarter and more than $1 million since filing for the race in May.

Paul, the son of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), is running to the right of Grayson in the GOP primary. Grayson is the establishment choice but Paul, aided by a massive grass-roots fundraising network, has proved to be a feisty primary opponent.

“We’re encouraged by the outpouring of support and think it’s based on a national support for returning to Constitutional principles, opposing bailouts and eliminating debts and deficits,” Adams said.

2. I find that somewhat ironic
Myself, I would rather pay taxes than donate to a political campaign. When I pay taxes I get things like garbage service, roads, bridges, libraries, police and fire protection, etc., etc.. When I donate to a political campaign I get letters and calls asking for more money.

6. Puke - a sucker born every web second
Many fools and their money are soon parted. The only thing the Pauls have going for them is being successful at separating fools from their money. Maybe that's not such a bad thing.

7. "Rand" Paul?
With a name like that, I almost feel sorry for him. Ron Paul must've thought the name "Adolf" was too old fashioned.
