5. I sure would like to give her an EasyWalk™ harness.
It would solve their problem with Bo walking them. We sure sell a lot of them.

I wonder if it would ever get to them if I sent one to the White House?

25. I just wrote a television "Democratic Strategist" who is one of our customers
to ask if she knows how I could get an EasyWalk harness to them.

Maybe if I could find out the name of Bo's nanny . . . . :)

20. After breaking my ankle
I had to do something to keep my dogs from pulling me down, so I got the Gentle Leader collar that goes over the nose. Works great. Do you know if the EasyWalk harness works better?

26. The full name of the EasyWalk harness is "Gentle Leader EasyWalk Harness".
They are made by the same (wonderful) company.

None of our dogs pull, so we don't have to use either, but I saw one of my puppies, now four years old, last week in New Hampshire and he was still forging and generally acting like an ass with his Gentle Leader head collar on. I had some EasyWalk harnesses with me and gave her one, and he started behaving on lead right away.

That's just one anecdote, but I do know an awful lot of trainers recommend them.

You can read more about it here

http://www.premier.com/View.aspx?page=dogs/products/behavior/easywalk/productdescription

but if you order it from dogstuff.com 3% to 7% of your order goes to rescue.

34. that or a gentle lead head halter
If dog pulls, it put pressure on top of muzzle. They learn it is uncomfortable pretty fast. Showed one to an 80 pound neighbor with a 100 pound lab. Made her life easier when he was a headstrong young dog.

8. Curious about that third photo.
There's something sailing through the air at knee level, attracting both Michelle and Bo's attention. Just conjecture, but I wonder if a photographer tossed it to get the dog to react. If so, the look on her face might mean "Don't make me come over there."

I'm just sayin'.

11. Yes, the turquoise object. Maybe you're right.
I thought it looked like a Huggie, which wouldn't make much sense. Doo-bag might be right. In which case Michelle's expression might be saying "Well, don't just stand there, scoop!"

Edited on Sat Sep-26-09 09:35 PM by rebel with a cause
but I think it is a blue/turquoise plastic bag and the black part seen in picture 3(?) is the door of the vehicle that is parked there. I have no idea where the bag came from but Michelle does give it a questioning look in the one picture. It looks as if someone might have accidentally dropped it or something.

Edited to add, oops I didn't see the string/handle on the bag. I have no idea if it is a back pack like you say or a bag.

36. Oh Puh-leez.
I think M.O. is just about the coolest thing to come along in recent memory. She's strong, personable, smart, and if, as I conjectured without a shred of actual knowledge but with good humor, someone had pitched something in order to attract the dog's attention for a photo op, she'd have had every right to think "Don't make me come over there." It was a joke. A bon mot. A bit of tid. Have mercy...

Obama, first lady watch daughter Malia play soccer

WASHINGTON – After a week of meetings with world leaders, President Barack Obama is enjoying some family time.

Obama left the White House on Saturday morning for a soccer field in northwest Washington where his 11-year-old daughter Malia was playing soccer. First lady Michelle Obama and the family dog, Bo, joined along.

The president stayed on the field sidelines with other onlookers and parents for about 30 minutes. As he left to return to the White House, several children shouted "Bye, Mr. Obama." Obama waved to those on the field.
