Lewis hits the fundraising trail

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Kenneth Lewis has been busy raising money this week.

Lewis, a Durham lawyer, has held fundraisers at the Womble Carlyle law office in Greenville, S.C., and at the private Pyramid Club in Philadelphia this week, reports Barb Barrett.

Lewis, a corporate attorney at Womble Carlyle, is seeking the Democratic nomination to take on Republican U.S. Sen. Richard Burr next year. Several Democrats have expressed interest in possibly seeking the nomination.

Early next week, Lewis has a fundraiser planned in McLean, Va., in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and one planned at the Rice Financial Products Company in New York City.

In between are North Carolina fundraisers in Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Durham.

While in Washington next week, Lewis also has a private luncheon planned at the National Democratic Club.

Lewis’ national financial director, Chad Proudlock, declined to say how much Lewis is raising at each event.
