Really, isn't it irrelevant what the Baucass bill had in it? Isn' the goal to get it out to mold the
REAL plan?

I mean, could it not have been a blank piece of paper for it matters?

I am wrong about this?

4. Yeah, if getting it out DOES help mold a viable plan.
Let's just hope that it doesn't make the final plan moldy. ;-)

6. Yes, the public option fight lies ahead
in negotiations between the House and Senate. You are correct that the Baucus bill's sole merit was as a starting point.

7. Its relevant because this piece of crap provides much of the structure
and as such acts like a black hole drawing all the good aspects into it's self. It can and must be doctored up to tolerable by adding amendments and of course the other four bills but it will be a major miracle if this crap doesn't water down everything it touches.

8. Irrelevant ...?
You believe that it is "irrelevant" that a Bill with even a weak Public Option cannot pass a committee with a Democratic Majority and a Democratic Chairman?

I think is says something very significant about the Democratic Party.
Those corporate Democrats need to feel an immediate backlash.

NOW is the perfect time for an uproar that cannot be ignored.
They need to be put on notice that we are watching and taking names....even on committee votes.
(Thank You Internet and Liberal Blogs).

The Democratic Party as a whole needs to feel some heat for tolerating these "Centrist" DLC sellouts.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

10. Please read again. You missed my point
My point is that BaucASS has been part of the problem the ENTIRE time and in fact is part of the reason it has taken this long to get this far.

And because of that - and while keeping the eye on the ball of reform with a public option - it should be important to get the vote done with and move on from that ass to a point where they can actually work on a public option with real Senators.
