Media pissed because President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize erases the BS meme they were about to milk:
Obama has done nothing, which ignores not only these significant achievements, but also recent accomplishments, such as his successes at the G20 and being on the verge of signing into law a historic health care bill.

It’s been over 60 years since President Harry Truman urged Congress to enact a national health care system. Now, even longtime activists seem surprised that Barack Obama could not simply snap his fingers and win universal health care during his first seven months in office. That’s not how major social change is won. It’s not that easy, and movements, not politicians, typically drive success. That’s why the armchair critics who see President Obama, rather than activists, as holding the key to passage are so off base. Barack Obama has created the best opportunity to enact universal health care with a public option since Truman’s presidency. He has made a strong case for the public option, and used his personal popularity to drive the issue. But it is now up to constituency pressure to get the job done. It will take activists’ grassroots pressure campaigns targeting key legislators from the August recess through the day Congress votes to transform this opening for health care reform into a landmark victory.

(emphasis added)

1. He's got to be perfect like Sidney Potier in guess who's coming to Dinner.....
and after he's done it all, he has to fucking die, so that we can eventually worship him.

That's the only acceptable route for this President as far as the fucked up corporate media is concerned......

5. Quite!
No matter what he does, he can't win.

I'm tired of this shit, cause it is so unfair.

President Bush allows our country to be attacked, and he gets 90% approval.

This President wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and he is ridiculed.

Tell me why I shouldn't be pissed.

6. No, I won't. Your anger is proof that you still see things clearly.
Don't lose that anger. It is sanity that you have. Sanity and clarity. Keep it.

7. He's being held to the "corporate African American Manager" standard
You know the one where an African American in a position of responsibility in a U.S. corporation must perform at a level three times better than his peers while making no mistakes just to be considered on an even level with his peers.

8. That's what makes me so fucking sad.....
As much disaster as he has to deal with, coupled with the racist assholes and their Hitler signs,
and this is what he gets for it.....ridiculed for winning the greatest award there ever was.

It is as though the only thing he can do is die young of a violent death.....then everyone will suddenly put things into proper context; assholes, the lot of them!

That's what they are doing. It amazes me how racism exists no matter what. Get elected POTUS, and it will still be handed to you. What a joke the media of this country is.

12. Your rage is justified
I can't even turn on a television anymore with the blatant attacks on every move Obama makes.

The only question is what do you do about it? Become more involved and more active to counter the attacks.

17. I completely agree with you, FrenchieCat.
Funny how they ridicule him for "inexperience," but also ridiculed Al Gore, who had devoted 30 years to his cause when he won in '06.

Regressives love to have it both ways.

The bush administration was a catastrophe for America and the rest of the planet.

The whole world knows it.

This prize recognizes that we have turned away from their madness.

On the one hand, he has done nothing,
yet they were saying he was trying to do too much.

Which is it?

push the GOP talking points. Did he deserve it? Was it premature?

FUCK ALL YA'ALL. And suck on it because he DID win whether you like it or not.

The media is supposed to report and discuss the news, not frame the debate around the GOP's big pout.
