Pelosi: Nobel prize vindicates Obama's effort to 'restore American leadership'
By Jordan Fabian - 10/09/09 12:17 PM ET

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) used the Nobel Committee's decision to award President Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize as a vindication of his effort to "restore American leadership worldwide."

Obama suprisingly received the award Friday morning and later accepted it at a Rose Garden appearance. The committee cited his commitment to international diplomacy and climate change, two positions in which he broke sharply with the Bush administration.

"President Obama is working to restore American leadership worldwide and build bonds of friendship across the globe," Pelosi said. "The Nobel Peace Prize is a testament to his leadership and vision and a tribute to American values."

"Diplomacy and cooperation are the cornerstones of a strong, effective foreign policy. President Obama has worked tirelessly to put these principles into practice," she added.

1. The Dems really need to unleash Pelosi and let her speak out more. She keeps it real

The idiots on the right destroyed our image abroad. Ruined our economy, and now they act as if everything is Obama's fault. Until Grayson, Dems have been too soft. Its disgusting.

5. Welcome and your totally right.
I love NP. I think that under Obama she's been given a chance to shine and she's been showing to have extremely strong leadership abilities. Even Dems are in shock of her. I do felt she was stifled and mstreated during the Bush era. But currently she's given a chance to prove herself and she's coming through.
