To those wondering if President's Nobel undermines the "prestige" of the prize:
Apparently, previous winners don't seem to mind our President joining their club:

"The Nelson Mandela Foundation, on behalf of its Founder Nelson Mandela, welcomes the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Barack Obama.

We trust that this award will strengthen his commitment, as the leader of the most powerful nation in the world, to continue promoting peace and the eradication of poverty." Statement by the Mandela Foundation.

Jimmy Carter praised the choice, calling it a "bold statement."

And Bishop Tutu - well, no words are necessary:

4. That's because Obama is the first uppity American n----r in most RWers' lifetimes
to get the NPP. I suspect most are unaware that MLK got it, since they tend to be very poorly educated.

5. They know about MLK - they just don't see him as an uppity Negro - he's been so
sanitized by revisionist history into a milquetoast apologist. They don't know that he was a radical who scared the bejeesus out of people just like them.
