Democracy Corps Study: Obama hate is off the charts, Beck is a hero, and race is irrelevant
Suuuuuuure, Messrs. Carville and Greenberg. They'd be just as exercised about our agenda if, say, Tim Kaine were President:

Democracy Corps: Republican Base Voters Living In Another World

A new focus-group of Republican base voters by the Democracy Corps (D), the consulting and polling outfit headed up by James Carville and Stan Greenberg, presents a picture of the GOP base as being motivated by a fundamentally different worldview than folks in the middle or on the Dem side -- and they see the country as being under a dire threat.

"They believe Obama is ruthlessly advancing a 'secret agenda' to bankrupt the United States and dramatically expand government control to an extent nothing short of socialism," the analysis said." While these voters are disdainful of a Republican Party they view to have failed in its mission, they overwhelmingly view a successful Obama presidency as the destruction of this country's founding principles and are committed to seeing the president fail."

...One thing that the firm makes clear, though, is that this is not about racism, but about ideology: "Instead of focusing on these intense ideological divisions, the press and elites continue to look for a racial element that drives these voters' beliefs - but they need to get over it. Conducted on the heels of Joe Wilson's incendiary comments at the president's joint session address, we gave these groups of older, white Republican base voters in Georgia full opportunity to bring race into their discussion - but it did not ever become a central element, and indeed, was almost beside the point."

...The real unblemished champion, the one they most identify with on a personal level, is Glenn Beck: "Two aspects of the discussion on Beck among conservative Republicans were particularly noteworthy. One was a common fear among the women for his personal safety, a belief that his willingness to stand up to powerful liberal interests was putting his life, as well as the lives of those working with him, in danger. Of course, his willingness to face this danger head on only adds to his legend."

Oh how easy it is to forget how batshit unhinged the Clintons made the right wingers.

12. You got that right. My neighbor called Hillary a "socialist" in 2007!
I looked at her like she was nuts, as I hadn't heard this referral to Democrats as "socialists" before. You have to understand, using the word "socialist" means you are a wing nut who has a steady diet of right wing talk under your belt. It is crazy talk. When the GOP in 2008 started calling Obama a "socialist", I knew they were toast. When you use the craziest people in the party's words, that means you are out of ideas.

23. But the poll results would be different
greenberg and carville would have found that people didn't like hillary because she was a WOMAN. I thought those two have reconciled they feelings about Obama, but this faux poll makes me wonder. I guess its hard to call other people racist when you shamelessly promoted racial division during the primaries. They need to take a lesson from Hillary and let it go. She has been a CLASS ACT and she really fits her position. But this poll utter BULLSHIT.
People have signs telling Obama to go back to Africa and comparing his wife to a monkey. They don't like him because he is exotic and of course he is a muslim who follows the teachings of Rev. Wright.
greenberg and carville can kiss my big, fat Black ass with this bullshit!

24. So a racist can't hate Hillary?
I don't get this logic. My aunt is as racist as you can get, but she still hates the Clintons and Democrats who give "lazy black people" (her words) handouts.

If it doesn't involve cash, Beck doesn't care.

5. His willingness to face danger!?!?? WTF?
When has his sorry ass ever faced any danger? Did he ever appear at any town hall in August? Support his teabaggers in person anywhere? Hell, he was too chicken to show up at 'his' 9/12 demonstration.

6. They fear for Beck's safety? Honestly?
Good Lord.
And he is a hero for facing danger? What fucking danger? He is much more of a danger to himself than anything?

11. In pursuit of journalistic excellence and high integrity, Beck has consistently put his own health
in danger from Vick's Vaporub induced blindness.

I believe Beck once said sincerity is great and once you've learned to fake that, you've got it made.

14. I think that occurs when Beck snorts up blow and he doesn't know what...
it was cut with. That could be dangerous.
Or maybe that teenager that Beck reportedly raped and killed put up a hell of a fight?

7. Anyone who says race isn't part of the hatred towards Obama
is either ignorant, blind, or pushing their own agenda...or all of the above. There have been numerous examples of both blatant and veiled racism from the Right.

n***er rigging healthcare.

I have met only one racist who admits she is a racist. Everyone else makes up excuse after excuse how it's not racism.

13. As to the race question, I think it is both. But the focus group was careful
not to mention it.

I will say this: if you think it would be any different with Hillary or Kerry or Gore, well you'd be wrong. I just think the racial element (which is largely subconscious for some of these people) is right under the surface and affects the ferociousness of the hate. But to be clear, they would be just as much hating on a Democrat, white or black or brown, male or female. They know Bush & the GOP f'd up, and THAT is where the deep seated anger comes from.

15. Once Carville's name was mentioned
I was done...Carville is still trying to make himself relevent.

Lynchings were an " ideology", where whites believed that blacks, jews and others were inferior to whites so lynching them was a family and town picnic affair.

Screw Carville....why doesn't he just come out and say that he supports his wifes beliefs.

16. Carville can be irritating. He doesn't, however, support his wife's beliefs
and that is obvious 30 seconds after you see them on TV sparring about the issue of the day.

Say what you will of Carville, he is no fan of Cheney (his wife's former boss), Beck or the GOP.

17. Why use these results to make Carville and Greenberg look bad rather than using them
to show how irrational and deranged the Republican base is.....that's probably why they did the study in the first place.

20. In his off-time, Carville helps overthrow....
...democratically elected governments and install Right-Wing Corporate Friendly military dictatorships.

"Carville told Lehrer, “I’ve worked in Venezuela and I would be very reluctant to call Chávez a democrat.” What Carville didn’t say was that he worked in Venezuela as an advisor to Venezuelan opposition groups leading an economically devastating strike by managers of the national oil company in an effort to destabilize the government (Washington Post, 1/20/03)."

18. The projection is incredible.
Uh, hey losers - Bush already had a 'secret agenda to bankrupt the US and dramatically expand government control.'

That's what the wiretapping and spying on US citizens was about. And he ransacked the US Treasury to make himself and his cronies rich.

Glenn BlecKKK (sic) is an unadulterated racist idiot who is two cents short of a nickel. His rantings and blatherings make absolutely NO sense. And he's putting on a show for the losers. He uses Vicks VapoRub to 'fake tears' too, just like all con men.

And of course it's about racism. Thank God the older, white Repuke voters are dying off. Just not fast enough.
