Where have you gone, George McGovern?
A nation turns it's lonely eyes to you....

Do you think McGovern could have won if he ran again in 2000? He's like the American Yoda, but everyone seems to heed his advice only in hindsight. Sure, he would have been 78, but from what I've seen of him recently, he looks much more alive than Reagan did at 69.

4. It takes the longest time to accept the simplest truths
Besides, I blame the voters for treating him like toxic more than his actual style. He got screwed by the party establishment in 1972.
