Clark appearance boosting turnout for Democratic fund-raiser
North Dakota Democrats' fund-raising dinner on Saturday expects to quadruple its normal turnout, helped in part by its headliner, presidential candidate Wesley Clark.

Vern Thompson, the state Democratic director, said late Friday that the party expects more than 550 people to attend its Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner here Saturday night. Tickets are $30 to $35, depending on whether they were bought before Monday.

Before Clark's decision to come, party officials had been planning for 125 to 150 guests. But his appearance, coupled with North Dakota's Feb. 3 presidential preference caucuses, has driven enthusiasm to a new level, Thompson said.

"The adrenalin is carrying us all through this time, because there's so much excitement," he said.

3. For the Dean supporters
Berrett Gall, coordinator for Generation Dean, the candidate's outreach effort to college campuses, said the 50 tickets have been spoken for, and he expects at least 100 Dean backers to attend Saturday's dinner.

Gall sent an electronic mail message to GenDean members telling them there will be "shirts, noise makers and a bunch of cool Dean stuff" for dinner attendees.

"We need to show the state party, and Clark campaign, who is really in charge!" he wrote in boldface type.

He said Friday he "should have used a little bit different wording" in the message, and that he meant no disrespect to Clark or any other candidate.

When Dean spoke at a Fargo rally last week, activists who supported Clark and Gephardt received Dean warmly, Gall said.

5. So It Turns Out Dean's Coordinator Is An Arrogant Bully
And he had to bribe the Dean supporter to come with goodies. :)

"The campaign of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, considered the front-runner in the nine-person race, bought 50 tickets to give to college students.

Berrett Gall... sent an electronic mail message to GenDean members telling them there will be "shirts, noise makers and a bunch of cool Dean stuff" for dinner attendees.

"We need to show the state party, and Clark campaign, who is really in charge!" he wrote in boldface type.

He said Friday he "should have used a little bit different wording" in the message, and that he meant no disrespect to Clark or any other candidate.

17. Terrific post for Clark
The people in the military who really know Clark, know he's terrific.

If he's the nominee, watch for more military to endorse him.

The military who have trashed him are political hacks.
