WHY WAS BUSH SO HOSTILE!!!!??? (We Should Bombard The Media W/ This ?)
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 10:08 PM by Beetwasher
He looked like he was going to LEAP over the podium at times and strangle Lehrer!!!

At one point he actually commented on leashing his daughters!

What's up w/ that?

This is what I took out of this debate, and I'm letting the "media" know about it. I suggest you do the same.

1. shrub is not used to being questioned
the shrub surrounds himself with yes-men. he insulates himself from the press. he speaks only to loyalists.

Kerry had a great come-back about the "leashing" - he said he had learned it wasn't a good idea to try to do that with one's children.

chimp is a failure in all respects.

5. Because Kerry stands between him and Iraq's oil.
Losing the election would spoil all of his plans.

7. He's a crazy man?
He was scared of Kerry with good reason and he knows he's wrong! He thinks he's gonna lose his job.

8. Very telling. And Kerry's response?
"I've learned it's best not to do that." or some such, indicating that he is a true parent, not one who would 'collar' a child by brute force.

Very telling. Abu Ghraib comes to mind...

13. It's too bad that Abu G didn't come up more often (if at all)
But merkins can't really handle the truth.

Still, I applaud you for the connection. I missed it. Thanks again for pointing it out.

when Chimpy made his "checks and balances" point ( ?) But hey, he still has time. Now he has some real support.

9. He's a brat, plain and simple
He had that look of a bratty 4 year old kid who did not want to be there. I was waiting for him to put his hands on his hips and stomp his feet! But hey, that's fine with me because it made Kerry appear to be even more of a calm gentleman than he already is.

11. I don't know- I guess I didn't catch that
he didn't seem particularly angry to me. He seemed a little irritated- smug, and condescending, but he didn't seem angry.

The leashing his daughters thing was wierd, but I don't gather that will hurt him- considering their proclivities.

I'll tell you what, though- he was way out of his element fumbling around to try to praise Kerry. What you saw there was clear evidence of sociopathy and narcissism.

14. Really? He Seemed Barely Able To Contain His Rage To Me
Thankfully they did not succumb to the agreement and DID show the other candidates during the exchanges and Bush just looked incredibly petulant and disdainful and then when he spoke, it was barely contained fury.

15. petulant, absolutely- and disdainful
also insolent. I'm kind of surprised how many people seem to see anger... I like to think doing mediation some years back helped me see those emotions before they play out... but in Bush's case, I guess nothing should surprise me.

I have a close friend who's also very perceptive- her take was that he looked uncertain, both in his nonverbals- his cadence (paralanguage) his posture and his darty eyes- and in his verbals- it was clear that he didn't have more than an elementary command of the facts. She thought it ironic that he kept repeating the mixed message meme while he was acting it out himself.

Another note: Why wouldn't Kerry look into the camera. I found that annoying. After all, he's not there to convince or appeal to Jim Lehrer- he's talking to the nation.... and he's not making eye contact. Curious. Did someone advise him to wait until the end to do that? and if so, why? That wouldn't have been Depa's advice.

17. Kerry's Looking Into The Camera Is Irrelevant
Your other observations and your friends are more relevant.

To be honest, I didn't even notice him not looking towards the camera.
