he and Kerry shook hands and he walked across in front of Kerry to join Laura. You could still see most of Kerry's head, from the bridge of his nose up. Puts Shrub at six feet in his shoes -- Kerry's 6'4" and always wears fairly low shoes. I remember they went out of their way in 2000 to keep from showing him standing near Al Gore because Gore's over six feet tall, and they claim the Naked Emperor is six feet tall. Not by my yardstick, he ain't. I know, I know -- it's petty. But much of the American electorate is petty, and images like that will stick in their heads.

4. I liked how JK confidently strode over to shake before and after debate.

7. I couldn't bring myself to listen to the Naked Emperor bloviate

for an hour and a half, or his share of it (getting a head cold, already have a headache), but I did watch the Daily Show wrapup and noticed that most of the stupid, petty shit the spinmongers usually use against Kerry -- his tan, that he sounds stiff and over-rehearsed -- deserted them tonight. When you can't find anything wrong with the vain, ephemeral things, and the guy is on the point of a pin on the rhetoric, it's pretty damned hard to beat him when all you've got is a two-bit fake cowboy with a turkey neck full of Prozac and anxiety to throw up agin' him.

The top of the mikes hit just below the knot on their ties. There appears to be about a 5-6 inch difference in the length of the mikes.
