We haven't won anything
Let's take this like the New England Patriots do...one game at a time. 6 weeks is an eternity in politics and anything can happen.Let's enjoy Kerry's trouncing of the Dildo-in-Chief tonight but not lose sight of the fact that it's ONE battle won,not the war.

Signed-Professor Pessimist :)

1. You do realize why they wanted this one to be first
because supposely Bush is "better" at national security and foreign policy. See Bush's policy is that if he looks in to your soul and he sees you're good, you're ok, interestingly he liked Pooty Tang's soul but Chirac and Schroder weren't good enough.

5. Except, there's only FOUR weeks left!
Hey, let's party tonight. We have reason to! A lot of hard fighting still to do, but with only four weeks -- not six -- to go, this was a much deserved and much needed morality boost for our team.

10. I want to see lots more hard-hitting Kerry ads
The DNC & official Kerry-Edwards blogs are full of instances where Bush changed his policy - we need to run ads showing that Bush is the flip-flopper. Get that idea into the public's mind where it can't be driven out.

11. HEY! Who threw that cold water on me? WAIT! Bush is still in office!
You're right, Forkboy. But after Bush's three week bounce, we needed tonight. WW2 wasn't won on D-Day, either, but it still felt good.

13. Exactly. There are very many variables.
Despite what may be to us a clear victory is only one piece of the puzzle, There will be press reaction and public reaction. Then we need to translate any gains into more voter registration and then get those people to the polls. And none of this allows for surprises. Count on Cheney to come out with guns blazing and count on all the heavy artillery to spout the "comfort to the enemy" lines. For them, it's all about fear. And that's a powerful emotion.

I do believe, though, that if we keep our good work here, we're closer to victory than we were yesterday.

19. Kill my buzz
Please. ;) I've got other stuff to do and I just can't shake my giddy happiness.

I DU'd the polls, wrote the editors, left the messages on the answering machines. It's just so nice to know that tonight, so many others saw what we have seen for so long.

20. I agree
we need to energize our traditional faithful base. I was in the hair salon tonite when the debate came on and this working-class black woman told me that she did not care for either one.

In fact she said she did not like Kerry and then started to compare him to Clinton. I told her don't vote for charisma but for who can do the job.

I have been writing about this on here for months and we need to wake up. These are registered black democrats who feel this way.

If Kerry does not get at the very least what Gore got in black votes in 2000 we are up shit creek.

21. I agree.
If anything, expectations are lowered even more for *. Kerry cannot ease up. He must go harder as he moves into Bush's more vulnerable areas. Let's celebrate tonight, but tomorrow it all begins again.
