Im SO glad Kerry didnt attack Bush alot!... let me explain. |
|
Gore's biggest mistake in 2000 was attacking Bush directly and takes shots; This gave Bush an EXCUSE for performing badly.
Bush's performance in 2000 and now was not THAT much different, but because Kerry did not attack Bush much, instead he was mostly positive, and now Bush's failure (self destruct) cant be blamed on being bulleyed, and that bullied look is what helped Bush's image back in 2000.
You DON'T need to attack Bush, all you need to do is let him self-destruct on his own, don't give Bush or the talking heads an excuse for the performance.
Great job Kerry, he learned from Gore's mistakes alright.

1. Agreed. JK made a whole long list of excellent points... |
|
... but not once could he be accused of being "mean" to poor lil' George.
As if the POTUS ought to be coddled like a lost kitten -- but that's how the spinmeisters would have played it had JK been more aggressive.
I think he got the tone just right: this guy looks, sounds, talks, etc. like a PRESIDENT!

3. And he's only trying to embrace those swing voters. |
|
They don't have our "lefty" menality. They just need some help in making up their minds.

4. They've talked to a few undecided voters, |
|
and most of them are leaning Kerry from what I can see so far. There was a group interviewed on CNN and 4 out of 6 said they were for Kerry and the other two hadn't yet made up their minds. Hard to believe, I know.
I'm jumping back and forth between CNN and MSNBC trying to pick up more commentary.

6. No name-calling. Kerry explained complex problems |
|
like Iran, North Korea, and Russia, in simple and honest terms, and showed how bush*'s policies sent mixed messages on nuclear proliferation, and issue that both agreed is the #1 issue.

|
he attacked bush's DECISIONS. He didn't attack BUSH.
It was phenomenal.

8. I liked this format but Kerry would never have done that. Didn't need to. |
