An Apology to my Friends who back Dean/Kerry/Kucinich/Edwards etc

An apology for the 186 posts of a thing that called itself "Clark Campaigner". It was tombstoned , finally, this evening.

For 186 posts, "Clark Campaigner" attacked decent supporters of the other candidates with hateful, abusive, obnoxious language. Frankly, I wanted to beat the living daylights out of it. It embarrassed all of us Clark supporters, men and women, to be falsely associated with such hate.

Many of you, long time posters and newbies alike were insulted by this poster and I hope you realize it does not represent people who want Wesley Clark as our nominee. We Clark supporters may be older than some, and even more centrist (in some cases) than some, but we're not belligerent assholes (at least most of us aren't).

Every campaign has its embarrassments. DU rules preclude us from openly calling people until they have been tombstoned and thats good. But please don't blame me for ridiculous attacks on your candidate that have been committed by an infiltrator.

If you'll grant me that much respect, I'll give you the same.

It was smart in that it chose its words carefully so it didn't get banned quickly, but it was 100% divisive. Finally it admitted it was a Reaganite,

All in all, it was a superior example of poisonous pond scum.

I beat the crap out of the guy on a couple of threads. I also alerted on him and then sent another alert to the mods just to thank them profusely for tombstoning him.

I don't know what he was doing on the Dean threads, but he was making Clark look bloody awful on the Clark threads.

Thanks for this post. I ran into "it" a few times but do not remember if I ever had direct contact. No worries, I have found all but one or two Clark supporters to be nice folks and those few do not post often. It is nice of you to apologize but it is easy to spot the few that make it difficult for the rest. No worrries.

...you have nothing to apologize for. As a Dean supporter I have certainly had many occasions to sit here and cringe while one of my fellow supporters behaves in a completely obnoxious and uncalled-for way that I'm sure will alienate more people than it will convince. That kind of behavior is totally counterproductive and I wish there were more people like you (supporting ANY candidate) who realized how damaging this kind of thing is.

I really appreciate where you're coming from and I look forward to the time when we have our nominee, whoever that might be, so that we can all come together again.

That noxious "Clark Campaigner" character went totally over the line. If it's gone, put out to pasture: hip hurray. I flagged a few myself, too, with those atrocious images.

Embarrassing and not funny whatsoever.

We try to keep a clean house... We're supposed to be Clark's Ambassadors. A class act.
