who looked more presidential? NO! who looked more LOSER-like!

back in 1984, i gotta say, as much as i despised everything reagan stood for, mondale just LOOKED like a losing presidential candidate. partly it was literally his looks: the racoon eyes, the goofy smile; partly it was the way he acted.

i never thought reagan looked presidential. he never seemed dignified or comfortable in a suit, he always seemed interested only in telling stories, at which he undeniably excelled.

fast forward to today.

it's always hard to say an incumbent doesn't look presidential. like it or not, he is the president, so kinda by definition, he's presidential.

but think of it this way: which one looks more like a LOSING presidential candidate?

tonight, it was clearly shrub.

he looked small, petulant, whiny, defensive, irritated, and generally annoyed. not at all dignified, prepared or in command.

1. his voice was defensive

and had that whiney inflection at the end of every sentence. At first I thought it was intentional to appear the victim, but it didn't work, because Kerry didn't blatently attack him. He just ended up sounding defensive and flustered.
