Split-screens: Bush's undoing! |
|
Those were the priceless moments! * demonstrated his capacity for looking like a coddled brat who wasn't getting his way. He looked like the petulant little imbecile that he is!
Let's face it, image counts a great deal in these so-called debates and shrubya came off looking like a second-rate chump.
Woo-hoo!!

1. You're being too kind..."petulant little imbecile" is a pretty gracious |
|
way to describe his 'performance' tonight.

3. I thought the same thing.... those moments that he was smirking and |
|
looking frustrated. I told my wife ... he lost without saying a word... of course he didn't help himself when he did talk. :-)

They must have coached him on controlling his usual to-the-side smirk, so it ended up looking like, well you said it best, churchlady!

7. The constant split screen on CSpan was the perfect way to watch this... |
|
... all the reactions, speaking or not, beginning to end. Very nice.

10. it was sweeter still since the pundits said Gore lost the 1st debate |
|
in 2000 for essentially the same conduct.

12. I just watched the CSPAN version and Bush looked like a goof |
|
Incredible how much more pathetic and less presidential he looked when the camera was focused on him the entire debate while Kerry was speaking. Was there even one 10 second stretch of standing up straight with a normal and respectful facial expression?
Based on the reactions of 19 people I watched this with, the debate will have more of an impact on swing voters, especially women, than is currently being projected. The women thought Bush was bored and energyless and and simplistic and repetitive especially the last half of the debate. Even the one woman who thought Bush won kept insisting he would revive his lackluster effort with a strong final summary, then conceded he did not.
My group picked up on Gore's sighs and rudeness instantly in 2000. This time I'm confident they are more insightful than the cable talking heads again.
