question: did shrub have cue cards?
during the first half or so, I noticed he kept looking down every now and then, even mid-sentence, and my first thought was, he's got a crib sheet full of talking points laid out in front of him! and that's why his responses did not have any coherence - he's just stringing 5 or 6 talking points together!

what do you all think?

1. If he did, he broke the rules.
They were allowed to take notes during the debate but not bring in any materials with writing on them. Of course, who's going to search them?

2. We can guess
what Karl wrote for him. Let's see "mixed messages or mexed missages",
the freedom thing, the terrorist thing, .... what else ?

3. When in doubt, always go for:
"and um"

5. I watched on CSPAN. Did anyone see Bush's "doodles"??
We were joking about what Bush was scribbling furiously during Kerry's moments.. it didn't look like Bush was actually writing.. SO.. imagine our laughter when he turned over one of the sheets and it had BIG SCRIBBLES AND DOTS on it!! I swear!! We were falling down laughing! Did anyone else catch it? It was hilarious.

6. I really think he had an earpiece
he was listening to something. He stared blankly, like someone on a cell phone, before he answered a question.
The answer many times started with a a word = not a concept.
Something was cueing him to key words, in the way that he uses nicknames to remember people.

I really think something was fishy.

7. I've read this before.
People have wondered about what he's doing during his speeches - like the ones at the U.N. They say that he holds his hand over his right ear, like he's trying to listen to something. Or he has this dazed look on his face, like he's trying to read something about 50 feet away, but he can't quite make it out.

heh heh .....now HOW can this fool compete with someone like John Kerry?
