China, Mr. Bush?
* wails about losing China's "leverage" if we go to bilateral negotiations with North Korea-- says we must have China along side us to pressure Kim Jong Il. Wish Kerry had said:

"Mr. President, I will not place the safety of the American people in the hands of communist China."

or perhaps:

"Mr. President, the safety of the American people must never be made dependent upon the goodwill of China."

1. Agree, I posted this elsewhere
it would have been a grand slam - and would show Bush to be two faced - can't cede to UN but can cede to China.

It does however still work - particularly if Rove et al want the debate to be about Kerry's statement about a global standard.
