The Importance of Debates? |

Bush was an embarrasment in the debate, too bad it doesn't matter. Bush is an embarrasments as president but still I don't think the debate will change anybody's mind. Issues are what decide elections

Most people don't follow politics like we do here at DU. They get their information from the boob tube. For that reason the debates are a big deal. Somebody here mentioned that 40 million people saw those debates. How can you not say that that is significant?

about a quarter said that the debates could influence their decision. I think about 40% said that the debates didn't matter at all.
