Can We Make A List Of Debate Whores? |
|
Some of the Republicans and Talking Heads have been grudginly honest. But some have been incoherent in their spin. Lets start a list, and hammer these people so they know that they don't represent the truth, or the popular opinion
I'll start with three, just off the top of my head:
Sean Hannity Peggy Noonan Rudy Guilliani
They are the worst, most oblivious perps in the post debate spin wars.
Who would you add?

I purposely avoided cable news channels.
I've been watching PBS, CSPAN, and the big 3. So far no blatant abuses. PBS had a pack of middle of the roaders who wanted to see balance in the whole debate.
I heard Hannity was pretty bad in his spinning for Bush.

He was less ridiculous than Giuliani, but he still tried spinning the debate as a tie. (All that is reasonable given the thrashing his boy took.)

Where the hell did MSGOP dig this dogshit from? First, this is the Swift Liar's head liar and a bigwig in the RNC. Tweety should be screaming at him to come clean about his connections in the sliming of Kerry...instead he's an anal-ist? And a poor one at that.
The guy is the epitome of a shyster...a lawyer who makes your skin crawl.

Ginsburg had to resign as Chief Consul of the RNC...their head shyster...because he also was doing work for the Slime Boat liars. This guy is wrapped up in all the wingnut and neo-con crap. My best comparison is to the Robert DuVal character in the Godfather...the consigliere...the fixer.
I first saw this guy during the Clinton inquisition...he's close to Lucianne and was one of the worst slimers during that time and I haven't stopped watching this weasel since.
What's an outrage is that he isn't identified for the partisan hack he is. Tweety knows the conflict of interest and ignores it.

Tweety assumed the position and fellated this guy. He didn't have anyone on to rebut this scum and even "palled" with this humanoid shit. It was an outrage and confirmed my feelings that Tweety is a complete opportunist and egotist.
Now I'm not sure what a REAL Repugnican is anymore. Is it the Lou Dobb-David Gergen-Lincoln Chaffee social liberals/economic conservatives? That part of the GOOP hit the endangered list when Raygun came in.
Cheers!

There is a Goldwater Republican in my church. Well, he identifies that he *was* a Goldwater Republican. The party moved away from him and is now unrecognizable to him. He is now a Democrat who takes great pleasure in the middle of church in addressing me as "fellow traveler." There are those in our community who would have our hide, so conservative are some of our neighbors.
I was listening to Savage for a moment on my way home tonight. When Lehrer asked Bush a tough question (well, just trying to get Bush to repeat the campaign claim that Kerry would make America more open to terrorism) ol' Michael shouted "Get rid of that Bolshovik!" Um, dude? Cold War's over, dude? Didn't you get the memo? Apparently Savage saw that as pro-Kerry baiting of Bush. I thought it was just a decent question that used what these people have been saying on the stump. What's the matter with that?
And why in heaven's name is the other side always Communist or Socialist to these people? Hence, my church buddy's joking comment. But I do get so sick of that. It's so kneejerk and ignorant of history. These people wouldn't know a real Socialist if one came up and bit him on the ass.
Sometimes I wonder if even Nixon would have been too liberal for these folks. And sometimes I think I'd rather have Nixon in office INSTEAD OF BUSH. At least Nixon understood foreign policy and diplomacy, paranoid though he may have been.

30. Some People Need Boogie Men |
|
I remember this debate in the early 90's (I initiated several of them in my former lifetime as a talk show host)...about how the GOOP right wing in those days need a boogie man or something to aim their internal self-loathing and general contempt for mankind.
The Soviets fit this bill well...so did the Red Chinese. They even played up the part and we couldn't get enough of the stereotypes of Boris Badenov and sinister guys with Russian accents. We still have it today.
After the cold war there was no one to fill that Soviet void. No evil empire, no evil Ivan. Some of that anger ended up being directed at Bill Clinton, but you can't bomb Clinton...we needed something the military-industrial complex could profit off of. Enter Osama bin Laden and Saddam...now "terrorism" (aka hating A-rabs) is the new boogie man that the GOOP will play off of indefinitely. Anyone who begs to differ is "one of them".
People like Savage and the other hate radio flamers live in blissful ignorance based on arrogance. They know it all and our goal is to get their approval. Screw 'em. It's time to say there are no absolute and no completely right or completely wrong way. It's called free will and fate, you'd figure these boneheads would at least understand that concept.
Ironically, I used to use Nixon as the measure of the worst President of my lifetime, with Raygun a close second. It's all Bunnypants now. I can't think of anything this boy has done that I've come close to agreeing with yet approving of.

If he did, he would have known that Kerry nailed almost every point he made tonight.
I'm so proud of him I could pop. Like Clark before him, Kerry said many of the things I was thinking, and I will love him for that forever. I hope the American people can see it too. Hopefully they can see past the spin.
Sing it, Brother Kerry. Send some hope our way!

In 2000, it was always a toss up for who would raise my blood pressure faster, Karen Hughes or Katherine Harris.
Meryl Streep said she had two people in mind when doing "Manchurian Candidate" and that she was not imitating Hillary Clinton. My personal opinion was that she modeled her character after Karen Hughes/Barbara Bush.

11. New York Times...Here is the headline and blurb |
|
Bush is put in a more positive light and Kerry is portrayed more negatively by this headline..
Bush Sees a Safer America, While Kerry Sees a 'Colossal Error' President Bush said he acted to protect the U.S., while John Kerry said Mr. Bush had made a "colossal error" of judgment in Iraq.
Standing Firm for 90 Minutes In the end, it was a real debate: sharp and scrappy, just what the nation seemed to yearn for during a wartime election campaign.
How can they get by with this, Bush just rambled on and on and did not answer any one question directly, instead he fell back on Rovian soundbytes.

...and, damn, I can't think of his name right now. Mark something? Anyway, he was on ABC and the Charlie Rose Show last night telling us about how much the Chimp has grown since 2000. Four years ago he didn't know the names of world leaders..now he brags about picking up the phone and talking to them because he's pals with all of them. Mark thinks that's real impressive.
Also, Chimpy looked angry last night because he KNOWS that Kerry would make an awful president. This guy actually said that.
What a tool.
