1:30am PST- Most online polls rate Kerry the winner ca. 85%-15%!! |
|
After voting in dozen prominent online media polls I'm heartened to see a tidal wave of approval for Kerry that might become the tsunami that will flush * out of our White House.
The closest was AOL with 55/45 for Kerry. Hmmph. Everything else ranges from 70/30 to 90/10 for Kerry with lots of undecideds coming to our side.
Best news from Kerry's mouth tonight: 1) US bases in Iraq WON'T be permanent, withdrawal within 4 years. 2) He'll stop the renewed US nuclear weapons program.
Now to get him to say that he'll reinstate the Bill of Rights and make torture illegal again.

2. I spent the past 6 hours writing emails. . . |
|
sending LTTEs, and voting in every online poll I could find. Most satisfying days work I've spent in a long time.
Oh, and I donated to the DNC.
Years from now -- hell, on the 3rd of November -- I want to hold my head high and tell my children I did everything I could to ensure they will live in a nation that is moving towards the ideals of Thomas Jefferson. And we can best ensure this by kicking the Usurper's Ass out of Tom Jefferson's home.

4. I haven't seen anyone else pick up on what Kerry said |
|
about Bush building 14 (I think he said 14) military bases in Iraq that look as though they are going to be permanent.
If I were an Iraqi, I would assume that those military bases were designed to keep Iraq a colony.
It would seem to me that if the Iraqis knew that we did not plan to make them a colony, it would be harder for the insurgents to get support from the populace.

5. This was *very* important to bring up... |
|
I doubt that many Americans have even thought about this "permanent" aspect of the Iraq occupation.

6. Talk of an "exit strategy" belies the fact that the US is occupying |
|
the Middle East for as long as oil fuels the US economy and military which are really the same thing. That's why Cheney won't release details of US energy policy.
There IS NO EXIT STRATEGY for a reason. I'm surprised to hear Kerry claim that he will change that.
The oil cabal that runs the US doesn't intend to leave so I'm guessing that this is ELECTION TALK to decieve the voters and get more cooperation from former allies to rescue our fodder from the Bush* Quagmire.
Wish I could be optimistic on this issue but it wouldn't be rational.
