Imus: Wasn't Even Close
He said the debate was painful and unwatchable...and the rest of his hyenas seemed to agree. This is not going to be a good morning for RoveCo.

When even the pack dogs are unsure of their leader.

27. Tom Jicha (TV/Radio Writer for the SoFla Sun-Sentinel:
"A panel on GOP-friendly Fox News Channel concluded that Kerry was forceful and eloquent and Bush squandered chances to score points."
...
"Joe Scarborough, MSNBC's house conservative, also praised Kerry for his 'best performance ever.' Scarborough opined that Bush started strong but after the first 30 minutes, he 'lost his way.'

"...Scarborough: 'I don't see how anybody could look at this debate and not score it a win on points for John Kerry.'"

FYI, the Sun-Sentinel is my (current) "home-town" paper; I referred to the print edition while typing this. I'm sure it can be found on the Sentinel's web page.

3. Wonderful
say what you will about what an asshole Imus is--and he is--but he does have a perverse kind of vox populi.

4. Andrea Mitchell is a lying whore
She's on Imus right now still spreading that Republican falsehood that Kerry can't explain his vote on the $87 billion for Iraq, even though he has explained it over and over again and independent analysis shows what he meant. And she's harping on Kerry's minor errors last night and ignoring Bush's massive lies.

5. Andrea Greenspan On Now...
Attempting to spin a tie here...saying Kerry still didn't explain the $87 billion vote (a damned lie...it's time to really clarify this was to protest a handout to Haliburton)...but was real harsh on Bunnypants.

She made mention of how Kerry knew he was on camera all the time and was writing or nodding, while Bunnypants looked like a fidity kid.

Yes, this could be a fun morning, indeed.

More Coffee!!!

28. How is it in trouble?
The Federal Reserve is a consortium of private, international bankers, so its chairman is not a political appointee.

40. Thank you for the correction.
I had assumed that since the Federal Reserve was a private bank that its boss was chosen by the board, not by their highest-profile debtor.

6. The lie I couldn't stand was Bush keeping on insisting that Saddam
had to be disarmed. This, even after many experts had said he didn't have any WMD's to start with.I am sorry Kerry didn't catch him on the lie.Along with this lie he kept claiming Saddam did not comply with UN resolutions. He did.

You add the fact which Kerry brought out clearly that there was no connection between Saddam and Terrorism and this idiot Emperor stood exposed for all to see.He wants four more years when he shouldn't even had the first four to start with!.He is an irredeemable misfit, a man in over his head and in need of counseling.

11. Jon Stewart nailed Giuliani on just this.
Saddam *was* disarmed. Otherwise, wouldn't we have found WMDs?

This needs to be hammered home.

13. Cognitive dissonance
There are a lot of people on the right this morning trying to figure out how to make something positive out of an ass-whipping.

They are confused by the lack of strength * showed last night and by JFK (flip-flopper) staying completely composed and on message while their boy looked like a complete fraWd.

How's this...

Kerry should get back on ridiculing the boy's initial...simple, sweet, direct, deadly.

Cheers!

Not at all -

It's just that Kerry made the tough questions look easy and Bush made the tough questions look impossible.

It wasn't even close to a fair fight.

21. Next Spin: Rope-A-Dope
Yep...the boy actually tanked the debate on purpose to lower the expectations for the final two debates. Face it, how can he possibly do any worse (short of blowing lunch on stage like dear old dad).

If they set junior's bar any lower they're gonna need a trenching tool to do it.

26. When you don't care about policy all these questions are hard
It isn't so much that Bush is simply stupid, it's that he doesn't care anything about policy.

He only cares about politics and power. Policy, like the tax cuts and missle defense are political tools to *.

John Edwards just made an unscheduled call to Imus. He was obviously very pleased with how the debate went.

I thought it was hilarious when at the beginning of the show, Bernie said it looked liked "Roy Jones' head bouncing off the canvas" for 90 minutes!

...I was working at the restaurant last night when a GOP regular comes in, late and inconsiderate. Boss asks him if he watched the debates, who won, etc.

Guy said "Oh, nobody really. Pretty much a tie, nothing new came out of it, neither guy advanced" and so on. I knew right then our boy came through. :)
