It's important that democrats come out in states such as Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Alaska...not to mention Louisiana, and Georgia as well.

I believe that most of these seats can be won by democrats, if the turnout is high. In SC, turnout among African AMericans will be vital. I know many thought that this race was a republicans gain for sure, but an internal poll shows it very close.

While Georgia is not likely to remain "democratic" (Zell really wasn't much of a dem), here to if there is high enough turnout in the urban areas, there is some possibility.

As for Alaska and Oklahoma, these are two of Bush's strongest states. He will win both by margins of over 20%. The democratic candidates in these races may not be ideal (a bit too far to the right), they are still electable in those states and the republicans are far far worse.

So those living in these states, it may be less useful to work for Kerry in your state, but a senate candidate instead. After all, Kerry isn't likely going to be taking any of those mentioned above.
