The Media whores are desperately trying to convince us that after we've had some time to think about it, we're going to decide Bush really did perform better than Kerry.

In other words, they're going to try their hardest to convince us that we didn't see what we saw for the next couple of days.

11. I noticed this also.

They are smart enough to not even try to spin it outright. This remark gives them a foundation to start chipping away at Kerry's victory. It will be a three or four step process before they decide by god, Georgie won it after all! Watch and see, by the time this Sunday's talk shows roll around, "polls show Bush held his own, and by doing so, won the debate".

But Kerry got some good ones in, and all Bush did was repeat the same old lines, so Kerry's accusations weren't countered in any effective way. Iraq and the war on terra are supposed to be Bush's strong suits. Kerry cut him down and good. Anyone watching who hasn't kept up on things is probably Googling 'Tora Bora'. Bush totally blew it w/the North Korea question.

The media can spin this all they want, but anyone watching the debates last night is not going to buy it and enough of Bush's behavior and Kerry's statesmanship leaked out quickly. It was good that the DNC pre-empted much of the spin w/ ads and having their people out there saying Kerry won. It's going to be hard to erase that first impression for anyone merely reading about the debates. 'Bush was angry'.

I believe domestic policy is next, right? Kerry needs to do just what he did last night, tell the truth. My only suggestion to him would be to look into the camera more. Respectfully acknowledge Jim, but talk to US, the American people.

Since they have so little to work with, they're going to have to go for a hot-button issue that doesn't require anything from Bush. Anything that will get people to STOP talking about how well Kerry did, and how presidential he seemed. Expect more windsurfing type of pictures as attempts to knock Kerry down to a punch line.

most people thought Gore won by "several points." It wasn't until days later, after the media replayed Gore's "sighs" and talked him down, that Bush was declared the winner by the populace.

And, it was painful to hear - the long pauses in Bush's responses really stood out on radio (my PC is not close to the TV, and I wanted to watch the DU commentary...)

The funniest scene was when he emphatically said at one point, something to the effect of "Let me answer that! I think..." Then he suddenly stopped and stood there silently with the deer in the headlights look for several seconds - which seemed like an eternity.

22. worried about a rumor

Karl Rove is famous for starting these "whispering campaigns" where he starts a rumor floating around. It occurred to me that the Repugs might get desparate enough to start one about Kerry's health, ie that his cancer is back. I hope that the campaign is ready for it.
