4. IF, and I don't think so, it was a draw
That's good too, here's why:

This debate was conducted with the Chimp's own rules
This debate was on what is perceived to be the Chimp's strongest asset
The Chimp is expected to have gotten smarter and stronger after four years as President
The Chimp should have "won" this one hands down

6. To him it's a draw only because
neither Bush or Kerry made a "major" blunder last night, like maybe Bush saying to Kerry "I know Osama bin Laden, Osama bin Laden is a friend of mine, and Senator, you're no Osama ben Laden". At which point Russert would have given a clear win to Bush. :D

8. I heard him on Imus where Tim said Kerry leads in audience opinions
Timmy said that his job was to analyze the opinions of viewers, not to give his own view and he gave Kerry the edge based on the focus group and poll results.

9. Get him off the air.
If you can demonstrate convincingly that he shouldn't be on the air, then by all means do so. Take action.

11. These pundits are like sports commentators
who try to create interest in a game when it is clearly a rout. Russert wants all eyes on him like the last election, with his white board and "Florida, Florida, Florida!" So as long as he and his fellow pundits keep this election close in the minds of Americans, it keeps their ratings up, building up to election night.

That's my impression, anyway. Either that or they are complete whores.

16. Actually I think that this is a good thing
After all, we all know that Russert, along with many other of the corporate media whore, is a pro-Bush partisan whore. If Kerry had faltered at all, any type of slip up, Russert would having been crowing to high heaven about how Kerry lost the debate, and was going to lose the election. But Kerry didn't, in fact Kerry came through with such a stellar performance that even the most partisan pundits couldn't deny the reality of the matter. We knew they were going to paint the situation in the worst possible light, and the worst light they could find was that it was a draw. This was repeated over and over on all of the major media outlets, that this was a draw.

And yet even though they were spinning for major damage control, ie that this debate was a draw, they were also stating many positive things about Kerry and his debate performance. And while they were calling the debate a draw, while they were praising Kerry's performance, they couldn't come up with one single positive thing to say about Bush and his performance. All they could say was that he "stayed on message". Well of course he did, so could any reasonably trained parrot.

So I think that this is a good thing. I was expecting that the media whores would be bashing Kerry, yet suprise suprise, they couldn't. They were forced to acknowledge that Kerry conducted a top flight debate, and that there was nothing, NOTHING, that merited praise for Bush's performance. They were forced to back off of their constant Kerry bashing for once, across the board at Faux, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC etc.

We will never, ever see Russert, Woodruff et al come out and say plainly that Kerry won a debate, that Bush lost it. Bush could acknowledge that he is the devil himself, and the media whores for Bush would spin it that Bush likes warmer climes. But to have them forced into acknowledging that Kerry put on a good show is about the best we can expect from them.

Meanwhile, take solace from the fact that the undecided swing voters are coming away from this leaning more towards Kerry than Bush. Across the board this morning the polls are showing a rise for Kerry. These are the real critics that we need to worry about, not the media pundits. And according to them, Kerry won last night.
