Best moment of the campaign so far: W. Clark on TDS, smiling and laughing |
|
That was awesome, to see Wes Clark so full of joy and laughter after the debate. He looked like a kid at Christmas. Jon Stewart was cracking him up.
It made my whole day (that and seeing the Deer-in-the-headlights-in-chief stare, blink, stutter, stammer, and blow his way through the "debate").
Who else loved seeing the general so ebullient last night?

2. The demeanor of joy, relief...and knowing you are on the correct side of.. |

things! What a relief to feel some joy (even acknowledging that media spin and RNC attacks will diminish the euphoria a bit) - WE ARE BACK...WE WILL WIN! I saw the first half of TDS - truly great stuff....

4. I missed it! In my television ignorance, I didn't know where to find it. |
|
I looked through the "usual" channels, then gave up. Very aggravating. I need to learn about where these different programs are (what channel).

what a beautiful word to describe it! Yes, it was wonderful to see General Clark that way. Not to mention seeing Rudy Giuliani right afterwards looking like the babbling, incoherent toadie that he is... Bonus!

9. Ya know, politicians' personal lives matter less to me than |
|
how they govern, but knowing the adulterous crap that Guiliani got away with while his party crucified Clinton for a rather tepid affair made Jon's shutting Guiliani's weak spin points down last night all the more sweet. Go to hell, you sorry fool. (RG, not you, RW).

14. Rudy started going on about how Kerry had contradicted himself |
|
And Stewart would say, "I'm sorry, but didn't Kerry actually say 'XYZ'? That seems pretty clear." etc., etc.,
Stewart's take on the debate came through pretty clearly last night. He just wouldn't let Guiliani spin without answering it. God bless him.

16. Jon was not letting him get away with |

anything. Every time Rudy went off on a spin point Jon called him down with a fact.
He hardly interrupted Clark, Jon had one great zinger that took everyone 15 seconds to get. Clark had talked about Bush lies and deceit, Jon said worked for him last time. Long pause -- then everyone including Clark started roaring with laughter.
GO JON!

He's just too smart not to have a very important job!
