Did Kerry put his life in danger ?
When he mentioned the 14 bases planned for Iraq? And that we would not have any intentions of staying in that country. What !! After all we've been through, Kerry would surrender the oil back to the Iraqi people! Can he survive such a thought? Seriously......

4. Sorry, you misread my post....
Of course I do not think we should stay in Iraq. We should never have been there in the first place. But, it reminded me of the comment by JFK when he said somehting about withdrawing from Vietnam....and certain powers did not want that to happen at that time...and what happened to JFK?? But, I could not expect anyone to read between so few lines..:)

5. When you put it that way, I do see what you are saying
I hope you did not think I was trying to flame you. Rove and his neocon buddies certainly are capable of assassinations.
I read the post completely the wrong way, sorry!

2. Did you see Bush's face when Kerry said that?
A mix of sheer terror, shock, seething hatred, and of course, as is always the case, naked rage.

3. Media so far has not focused on this key policy difference
Certainly the strength of the insurgents is due in large part to their belief that Bushco intends to not only achieve complete submission but to also retain complete future domination with a large permanent U.S. occupation, no matter how many Iraqis are killed in the process. Kerry must be hoping that signaling a change in direction for the U.S. in Iraq away from the role of permanent occupier would help to stabilize the situation and reduce the violence so we can get out sooner. I hope Kerry gets lots of support from military and foreign policy experts on this issue.

6. I'm really glad Kerry said it
Anyone with half a brain knows that, if you're building 14 bases in a country, you have every intention of sticking around for a long time. And of, oh, having a little say in what goes on there.

10. I picked up on that too
To a certain extent. I did not immediately think of assassination, but I thought it was a very important point. He did not hammer it, but he certainly planted it.

There are some Americans and certainly some corporations who might think that bases would be good. But I think the majority of Americans "on the ground" want us to get the f*ck out of there.

12. When Kerry left the stage with Teresa last night
I thought of RFK leaving the stage at the Ambassador Hotel in LA. I was getting this feeling that things were going too well. And we know what the conservative nutjobs are capable of.

Lord, please protect our next president. Our country depends on it.
