Why I Think The VP Debate Is Now The MOST Important
correct me if i am wrong

Last night was such a huge victory for Kerry and oh so bad for Bush. Now, the new round of MEANINGFUL polls won't come out until sometime next week (early probably).

If what we think is true and Bush really did THAT POORLY last night, imagine this:

Tuesday night is the VP debate. If Edwards mops the floor with Uncle Dickhead, WITH the 'undecideds' having fresh Chimpblood on their minds, it will be a one-two punch that could seal it for us.

The two debates are unusually close together.

thoughts?

1. That one will be important...
I think its real important for Edwards to be the charming, intelligent guy he can be. Could be like the Kennedy/Nixon debate where everyone viewed Nixon as a ghoul next to Kennedy.

Of course Cheney isn't really a ghoul, more like a cyborg...

2. I'm hoping for one of 2 things from the VP debates
Cheney's pacemaker breaks, and he keels over...or he gets mad, jumps over the podium and charges Edwards like a bull...

7. I'm worried about Edwards...
A rabid bite from Oily could prove fatal.

Anyone witness Cheney foaming at the mouth lately?

3. True
And if you consider Crashcart vs. Edwards, as far as likeability goes, there's no competition. Dick will spew his usual lies and spin, and come across as the a*&hole he is. As long as Edwards is well-versed on the issues, he should have no troubles winning the debate. And at that point, the election should be tied up.

4. especially for those who say "at least Bush has a great team"
in fact many excused bush's ignorance of the issues in 2000 by saying he had a great team which included dick cheney.

if edwards destroys cheney then they wont even have that anymore.

6. I like the way you think. I've already heard 3 times this morning that it
should be obvious that Chimpy's not the one running the show. If people are thinking that way and Edwards tears UncaDick a new one it would become quite clear how they should vote.

8. Edwards will wipe the floor
with Evil Uncle Dickie. This man is a trial lawyer, for cryin' out loud. I'll be very surprised if Cheney's head doesn't explode.

9. This debate will be very entertaining to watch
From what I recall during the primaries, Edwards is a very strong debater. Cheney meanwhile can't wipe the smirk off his face and is bound to say something evil.

Remember that the audience for these debates are not the people who think Cheney (or Edwards) is the preferred candidate, but rather the undecideds; how could an undecided possibly be more drawn to Cheney than Edwards? This one seems like a slam dunk. We shall see.

10. Cheney will try to hit Edwards/(Kerry) on their "pessimism"...
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:35 AM by Flubadubya
just watch! BushCo are working overtime on this myth. However...

Edwards needs to keep his sunny disposition beaming and reply thusly, "If we appear pessimistic, it is only with respect to the actions and prospects of this current administration. We know it cannot get the job done and is going nowhere. It's a realistic, rather than a pessimistic view. We have all the optimism in the world that a Kerry administation can and will do better on every front."

12. Arianna Huffington is on record predicting that Cheney will say
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:51 AM by frankzappa
the F-word at Edwards within the first 1/2 hour of the debate.

...Edwards has made a very successful career out of eating folks like Dick Cheney for lunch in courtrooms all across America. He’ll know exactly how to wield Halliburton like a stiletto. I give Cheney 30 minutes before he drops his first F-bomb. I can’t wait.

13. Is the VP debate limited to foreign policy & homeland security, too?
Cheney got everything else he wanted, Edwards has said. I'm sure Cheney would've wanted to limit to foreign policy. Did he get that, too?
