Bush's calling Putin by first name in debates
heard him call him by first name at least twice that I caught, was at best arrogant and condescending, now we know what the world thinks of him really this morning. Why did not his handlers tell him better?

21. It was comical. I laughed aloud......
It was an attempt by the pathetic little AWOL/moron to show how close he is to a real live head of another country. It came off as just plain funny. Ironic, isn't it that a wing-nut like Bush wants to be shown as being a friend of a Ruskie, especially a Ruskie who was head of the Soviet Secret Police.

6. Yeah I commented about that to my husband
I guess now that he doesn't agree with 'Vladimir' he has lost his nick name status of Pooty Poot

7. that was funny. you'd think * would want to distance himself
a little bit from old Vlad - what with him stifling democracy and all. Instead he tries to imply that they are good old buds that go way back - except of course that like every other big word * can't pronounce his name.

he and pootie-poot are. I guess he forgot that Pootie tang just publicly told him to back the fuck off of Russia.

9. Pretty damn disrespectful if you ask me.
And I don't appreciate it one bit! :silly: Is that how a World Leader gets other World Leaders to go along with them, by disrespecting them?

I picked up on that, too. I thought George was going to start referring to Putin as Vladdy-puss or something.

Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:37 AM by gatorboy
by referring to Putin by his first name. And if the polls prove anything this morning, it's that the American people are finally realizing that the "Aw shucks" routine is falling flat.

16. Yes, I noticed, and commented, on that, too...
Also, when he said "I know how those people work", referring to leaders of other countries. The disdain he has for the rest of the world was obvious.

20. Yes!
I'm glad you noticed this. It was unbelievable - so disrespectful of "these people", but also of Kerry, as if our candidate didn't know what the hell was going on in the hallowed halls of world power.

"These people" were probably laughing at the disgrace we've been given for president.

18. Trying to show his command of the subject
By name-dropping as much as posible. Of course, he still didn't seem to know that enriched uranium and plutonium are pretty much the same thing, and seemed to have gotten confused when Kerry spoke about North Korea, coming back with "That's not what's happening in Iran at all."
