The latest BS Rethug spin (unbelievable!): "* was tired."

I know, I know . . . but I couldn't help having a peek at the grudge report to see how the cheerleader in chief was spinning this debacle. Upper right hand corner below masthead, no link, but below a picture of our naked emperor looking like a pissy schoolmarm are the words:

"Bush inner circle suggests Bush visit with Hurricane victims earlier in day was emotionally draining, contributed to 'tired' appearance in debate . . . "

This is desperation. If Kerry had come across badly and made anything like this kind of pathetic excuse, the level of ridicule from the whores would be whithering. Besides, Shrub didn't look "tired" (nice try, Karl). He looked pissed off, afraid, at a loss for words, over-matched, and stupid. Oh, and very thirsty.

1. I watched on CSPAN
and the side by side split screen was amazing! The Bush campaign had to come up with some excuse for him, lame as it is. They were probably up all night on that one. LOL

I agree, he looked pissed off and irritated.

2. I saw that coming yesterday. He visited Florida yesterday....
On Hannity's radio show, Karen Hughes was praising Bush for spending the day with victims of the hurricanes in Florida instead of preparing for the debate.

They knew he couldn't stand his ground against Kerry, so they sent him to Florida so he'd have an excuse for bombing.

Yes, this was planned.

4. Whatever!
Man these people are pathetic. I have never seen a debate that was so lop-sided. I am not sure who these pundits are who say it was a draw or that Bush won, but it clearly shows how desperate they are. My God, I can't wait for the next debates. It's time to talk jobs, health care, economy, deficit, tax cuts for the rich. Hey, I think I owe taxes this year thanks to shrubco.

The Neo-con vision must be destroyed.

6. So, will terrorists call off their next attack if the President is tired?
Will that be the excuse if Bush sits reading My Pet Goat for another 7 minutes?

7. So in other words...
He can't take the pressures of the job! Even more reason to boot his ass outa there!

They can't squirm him out of these debates. The next two will be even worse...he can't make up shit about our country the way he did about Afghanistan and Iraq. Well, okay, he can. But no one will believe him!

10. Republicans always cry when their losers get the shit kicked out of them.
Remember Lugar, I think, in 1984, when Walter Mondale wiped himself with Reagan, claimed that the whole debate process was "brutalizing" for the poor old dodderer. And it clearly was! But Republicans hope that by crying about it, Americans will feel sorry enough to vote for them. And sometimes they're right. Let's hope not this time.

11. Encouragement from a billionaire

Here's an e-mail I received yesterday from Betsy DeVos, (Amway), who's a big Republican voice here in Michigan. Delusional? You decide.

WE'LL DO LUNCH.
First Lady Laura Bush was in town last week for a lunch and fundraiser hosted by
Terry and John Rakolta, and the Vice President of the United States of America
had lunch at Finley's in Lansing.  The Democrat's response - send hate monger
Michael Moore, a self-described 'slacker', for a week.  No telling how many
lunches he'll have.  Since we're trying to win Michigan.I'd say it's a fair
trade.

THEY'RE NOT INDEPENDENT - THEY'RE WAITING TO TALK TO YOU.
The Tri-Cities (Flint, Saginaw, Bay City) are on the hot seat - and the whole
state is watching.  Our research indicates that the largest number of undecided
voters are in the Tri-City area.  It was "on fire" to be with 250 people
gathered on a weeknight in Genesee County - now you know what to do.

HE SHOULD BE DEBATING HIMSELF.
The first of the presidential debates is tonight.  The President will do great.
He has a luxury that Kerry doesn't have - he knows what he believes.  On the
other hand, it will have been much harder for the President to prepare  - who
knows which John Kerry will show up on any given issue?

"ASK ANYONE WHO TRAVELS"
I caught a little bit of a recent speech in which Senator Kerry informed us that
America is not well thought of abroad. He said that if we don't believe him, we
can simply "ask anyone who travels".  Well, well, .how sophisticated of him.
Most folks in Michigan "travel" every day -- to work, to the kid's soccer games,
to the grocery store, and maybe even to a lake on the weekends.  These folks
seem to think quite well of America, just ask `em.  I'm not sure they are in the
market for a president, but maybe Kerry should put in for President of the EU.

FIRST TIME ON A MOTORCYCLE?
If you saw Leno the other night you got to see Senator Kerry ride a motorcycle
on stage.with a helmet of course.you never know when you could have an accident
on stage at the Tonight Show.  (Yes, that is not PC, but please don't waste your
time sending me an e-mail on that :-) )  Anyway, the Senator needed Jay's help
to find the kickstand, and he seemed to be in a mighty big hurry to get his hair
back in place once he peeled the helmet off.

FRIDAY'S IN ANN ARBOR.
Regardless of how you feel about Saturdays in Ann Arbor, you had to love the
cookout at Ouimet's last Friday night.  Our "tailgate" fundraiser was a great
success. It set the bar for the rest of the state.  Who's up next?

KNOCK, KNOCK.
My soles had a little less traction, but then, what would I expect after
knocking on doors Saturday morning.  I walked the neighborhood in my home
precinct, dodging an occasional raindrop and a few  "excited" canines.  I got a
few confused looks from Kerry supporters when I showed up at their doors; but
for the most part it was a great morning. Lots of smiling faces.

VICTORY CENTERS ARE NAMED FOR A REASON.
I've visited the Victory Centers in Flint, Kalamazoo, Kent, and Jackson the past
few days.  The energy is electric!  And with Super Saturday coming up this
weekend, October 2, the places are hoppin'.  Have you signed up yet?

"MISLEADISMENT."
John Kerry has made up parts of his Senate Record. but, now he's started making
up words too.  Scary! One of them, "misleadisment," came out as he tried to
describe a new television ad being run by Bush supporters.  There are many words
I could come up with to describe ads being run by his supporters. but I will
leave that to others.

Courage all.

I'm out.

- Betsy

12. poor baby
the debates were important, he and the nation knew he needed to be prepared, get rested and be ready. He did not, that's his fault.

I never got to take a make up exam if I was too tired for my test and did badly.

20. At least he wasn't clearing brush or riding his bike

You know, those manly things he does at his "ranch" when he is "on vacation" half the damn time, as opposed to (cancer survivor) John Kerry, the wimp who windsurfs, rides bikes competitively, hunts, skis, etc.

Bush is too physically weak to handle the job! Now THAT'S a fucking "meme."

so they had him do a bit of work for a change and then claim exhaustion. It's kind of funny really coming from the dog (ate my homework) and pony show pResident.

from Dubya's campaign - i cna't remember who (maybe Ralph Reed - i don't remember) and apparently they didn't get that memo, they were like...

"pfft! the president wasn't tired! like going to visit floridians would tire him out. pfft. nonsense. that's just silly. the President had great energy once the debates were over."

I had to lmao at that dude missing the pitch.

21. I heard this from a few callers on Washington Journal this morning.
Trying to spin that Bush, the eternal vacation taker, was "tired from dealing with the victims of Florida's hurricanes...while Kerry, in the words of a woman, "Was able to rest up and relax leading up to the debate". He was????? Nice try guys...ain't going to fly. Our fearless leader, after all, is known for his tireless courage...correct?? ;)

Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 10:43 AM by berry
I wish I could remember where I heard this (on CNN or MSNBC I think), but someone said that Kerry had spent the day being pampered and primped. As if he'd been at a spa. "How effete"--was the message. "How pathetic"--I thought (this made the "tired" excuse even lamer).
